"We had a fantastic stay at the Bailiffgate Hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hotel itself is beautifully finished, combining modern luxury with the character of the historic building in a truly special setting opposite Alnwick Castle. Our Terrace Suite was exceptional. It was spacious, immaculately presented and finished to a very high standard. The private terrace was a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring Northumberland and really made our stay feel extra special. The standout feature, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team we met was warm, welcoming and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel valued from the moment we arrived until we checked out. It’s clear the hotel places a real emphasis on hospitality."

"This was our first visit to see what it was like to give us future options and to compare it with Doxford Hall where we usually stay for short breaks. We are sorry to give only 4 stars for this particular stay, the property and room quality were both excellent as were the staff we interacted with but the stay was let down by a problem with shortage of kitchen staff due to illness. This resulted in a reduced dinner menu from which my Wife could not select something she really liked (ending up with Chicken & Chips - my Mussels & Steak were excellent though). The White Wine was not chilled and the Bacon at breakfast tough and almost uncuttable with normal forces. Despite the above comments we think that the kitchen problem was a one-off and we will try this Hotel again on future visits to beautiful Northumberland."
