Great location for touring north Devon

Basic room but comfortable and quiet. Staff very friendly. Parking close by and free after noon on sat and all of sun. Good place to locate for roaming north devon

Fantastic service. Lovely lady greeted us and showed us to our room. Room was very clean. All we needed was in our room. Other people here were welcoming and pleasant.

My room had all the basic amenities that I needed, during the Covid19 crisis. Bed and en-suite bathroom. Unfortunately when I tried to have a coffee, there were black bits floating within it.i tried to wash it out but the lid would then not shore. Other than that everything was perfect. Jon was a very nice host and he was running the Covid-19 volunteer support group.

SOMEONE HAD CHECKED INTO MY ROOM !!

When I arrived I was told my room had already been checked into , they had given my double bed to someone else, without asking for their ID, and I had to go into a single bed room, even though I had paid for a double, and there was a double available. I had to ring Hotel.com to sort this out and eventually was given a double bed room.

My room had a really obvious lump of hair the cleaner forgot to take away from one bed. The basin in the room barely drained after I removed another lump of hair. The power plug crackled loudly and stopped working at the slightest touch. The door had no proper lock and was horribly insecure.

Do not recommend

The room was dirty, plaster was falling off the walls and there were big cobwebs on the ceiling. The bathroom shower was covered in mold and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. The furniture was dusty. We did not end up staying overnight due to the poor condition of the room. Staff was otherwise friendly.

Never stayed in such a dirty hotel. Beds not made. Duvet cover was inside out. Carpet was filthy.

Friendly but dated

Although the hotel is a bit dated this is the style of the whole town and it was a bit like going back in time to my youth. More importantly the staff were very friendly and helpful which always makes for a nice stay.

Good budget option for Holsworthy

A great budget option - the triple room was bigger than expected, with ensuite including bath. Some TLC needed on maintenance (carpet & shower could be updated) but a very comfortable & convenient stay. Service excellent - very friendly & efficient.

Friendly helpful staff, nice room

The staff were really helpful and thoughtful, the room was nice and clean. Fairly basic facilities, but all in good condition. Lots of steep stairs, which could be an issue for some people but all good really.
