"Lovely 3 night stay. Rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. We booked two rooms and were assigned one in the courtyard and one in the main building. Bathroom in the courtyard room was significant bigger but otherwise rooms were comparable. Great location. Definitely recommend booking with breakfast included. "Check-in was perfunctory and lacking in warmth. My husband and I were also very disappointed to be told that the pool and spa closed at 7pm. After a long drive, we arrived at 6:45pm intending to relax in the spa before retiring. We understand that the spa was open until 8pm (on the pool board, it did say it closed at 8pm). 7pm is early for a spa to close and it doesn't open for an early morning swim either; we felt cheated. The hotel is on a cliff, so has lots of steps, which we had overlooked. At late notice a room without steps was kindly made available. The ensuite studio room was pleasant, comfortable and well equipped but sounds from the surrounding rooms could be heard. The room and equipment were mostly clean. A wooden spoon and PVC apron would be good additions. Ideally, we would prefer an 11am checkout, as 10am is a bit of a rush, especially with self-catering. Visually the spa lacked lustre but it was true to the photographs; a few plants would improve the general ambience and relaxation. The pool and jacuzzi were good, the sauna was rather small and steam room wasn't really steamy. The pool, sauna and steam room were clean but the poolside was a little dirty with leaves and debris in the seating area. We didn't use the restaurant, gym or games room but the communal herb pots and beach toys were a lovely touch. We enjoyed a few chives. Overall, if the price was right, I would be happy to return with the family, this time knowing the country clubs shortfalls."

"The staff are excellent really friendly and help in any way they can. The room was really clean and the shower excellent. We tried the swimming pool which was great had difficulty trying out the boat on the lake it needs mending unable to row due to the oars. Breakfast was okay but would have liked more choice for evening meal. Would recommend to friends"

"Hotel in lovely position and first impressions were excellent. We were greeted by reception and given the key to the "keepers" shepherds hut. This was in the grounds of the hotel and although small it was perfectly adequate for a couple of nights. Toiletries and towels provided as were tea and coffee making facilities. All very welcomed. The only downside were lack of full cutlery (only one fork provided) and the hotel advertise that a Dyson Hairdryer is provided in all rooms. Obviously not the case for the shepherds hut as we only had a cheap Babyliss one. We could also have done with a t-towel and cleaning bits to wash any cups/plates as no one checks or changes these during the stay. All in all though a pleasurable stay."

"Beautiful place, rooms are lovely and facilities are great. The only negatives are the rituals are booked on a paper sheet and numbers are very limited, we were there for 2 days and didnt manage to get on a single one even though only 2 of us. Would have been better if I could have prebooked online. Also we needed to leave at 7am but reception was closed and of the 3 numbers only 1 answered, ended up leaving 15mins late which impacted our other activities. Will know for next time as will definitely be going back."

"It is clearly a work in progress when we stayed. Would be better to dispense with baths and have walk in showers in apartment block. Whilst polite the bar staff were not that well informed. Eg when I asked for directions to our room they were not sure. And I was charged Shen I had already prepaid for the booking. But it was sorted. Perhaps wipe the dust off your blinds. Otherwise ok. Food was good and tasty. Good breakfast. If it continues to sort a few things out then clearly will be a winner as there are many good aspects to it."
