"On 8 August 2023 at 13:21, I called Acre of Africa Guest House to open the gate. They answered and said they will open the gate. In South Africa, too many people have hijacked at gates so I left rather than wait for them to respond. They finally called me back 17 minutes later. - but by then it was too late. Waiting for them to open the gate at night could have resulted in my kidnapping and murder - it's a scary thought. Now they're telling me they won't refund my money because I didn't wait at...

"One O Eight was the perfect stay. The room and property was spotless (the bath in the room was such a night treat), and the staff were all incredibly lovely.
I opted for a hotel pickup from the airport as a solo female traveller and it was fairly priced and not much more than an Uber & I really enjoyed chatting with the lovely driver that collected me.
The chef was so nice and made me a really lovely vegan meal for dinner and they packed me up a breakfast box for my early departure the next...

On the morning when we were there, the staff performed a little breakfast musical show that was very touching, including a jazzy national anthem. Also, I enjoyed the large screens showing WildEarth in the eating area. The Best of South Africa! Pool and gym were clean and not busy. "
