"This facility is lovely, if a little pricey. It is ideal for a relaxing getaway or special occasion. The view of the lake is great and provides an ideal backdrop. The dome is spacious and has everything you need. A little more countertop and food prep area would have improved the experience. There is a nice bbq on the deck but unfortunately no table so you have to eat inside, which I found sad as it would have been nice to watch the boats on the lake whilst eating dinner. The Barrington Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Incredible location!"

Hearthstone Inn Boutique Hotel Halifax - Dartmouth

8/10 Good

"I booked this to save some money staying near Halifax. For the price is was great, but there were some issues. The first room I was given wasn't made up, it was still unclean - yet, housekeeping staff had left for the day. Was given a different room without issue. There were some makeup (or blood?) stains on one of my pillows, and a couple of little stains on the sheets too. Breakfast was described online as a continental breakfast but it was actually a hot breakfast (bacon / sliced ham / hash brown patties / eggs) plus toast, corn flakes and yogurt. Limited choices but it was a nice surprise because I didn't even realize breakfast was included. Plus it was offered until 10am which was great. The vibe here is sort of old B&B, with a variety of styles and oldschool wood furniture around. I found it to be great value given the prices of other properties, just don't expect slick or fancy. Room was large and had a microwave and good sized fridge in the room. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again."

Burgundy Dream Bed and Breakfast

10/10 Excellent

"Hosts, Sam and Kaz, were most pleasant, kind, and hospitable, from start to finish, from arranging delicious vegan breakfasts, providing helpful directions to local sites and shops, to explaining rules of the B and B in very clear and thorough detail, to joining in conversation and making me feel at home. B and B about 25 minutes away from Halifax and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Peggy's Cove, for reference. Sits across from Williams Lake, where on their deck a beautiful sunset can be seen. A deck and hiking trail can also be accessed behind and above the house. House was overall very tidy, welcoming, and generally quiet. I stayed in the Sepia room, a spacious room with bunk beds. Came with a jacuzzi tub, which was a treat!"
