"The listing was misleading in several ways. This is not a home, it is a unit in a larger complex in a questionable area of town. There is no street parking in front of this unit as advertised, and no lighting at the complex or the unit itself if you arrive after dark as we did. The biggest issue was the poor instructions on the door lock which is also so weathered that some of the buttons are unreadable - so we could not even access the property. The hosts were unreachable, leaving us to search for a hotel room at 11 pm on the eve of our son’s tournament that had sold out almost all hotels. Our family ended up in a single room, sharing beds and sleeping on a sofa. When the host finally responded the next day, she took me to task for “my attitude,” falsely claimed she could not issue a refund unless Vrbo directed her to, then finally agreed to do so after I provided Vrbo’s policy to her. Three weeks later, still no refund so I had to escalate the dispute into a legal realm. In a decade on Vrbo we have never had an issue with any property, let alone something as atrocious as this experience. "
