"Two couples visited for our annual trip together. The house was beautiful, had everything we needed, and was clean and well organized. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evenings and listening to the nearby creek. Enjoyed walking to restaurants and around downtown without needing our car. Also enjoyed driving to nearby waterfalls and hiking."

"Quaint little Inn just outside Highlands downtown aptly named the Outpost. The Inn features nicely decorated , comfortable rooms and laid back ambiance. We enjoyed the outside firepit and the lobby living room area which were great places to relax after a day of hiking and site seeing. The staff was accommodating and responsive and I would go back "

"The cabin is lovely and situated so that you feel the mountain views are all your own. Very comfy beds. Lots of games, puzzles, and plenty of other entertainment with the arcade game and all the options on TV. The chess game that is pictured in the listing is no longer present, however. I only mention it because my husband and son had planned to put it to good use, as they love to play. Very short drive to Franklin, and there are lots of beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. Highlands is nearby, but that winding drive is nerve-wracking for someone used to flat land, and we didn’t find much to do there to our taste. The waterfall on the property, sadly we never got to see. We tried, but it was much too steep. I’m impressed with how many reviewers say they made it. We were very happy with our stay and would be willing to return."

"Highlander Mountain House in the Blue Ridge mountains is just divine! The design and decor are so charming, from the cozy rooms to the lovely common areas. I can't get enough of the warm ambiance throughout the property. And let's talk about the location – being near downtown Highlands is such a bonus, with easy access to trails and activities. But the real star of the show? The restaurant! It's hands down the best part, serving up delicious meals in a cozy setting. Whether I'm traveling with friends, family, or flying solo, Highlander Mountain House always feels like home. Can't wait for my next visit – it's truly a slice of heaven in the mountains!"

"Cute little rental neighborhood with several modular home cottages. You can hear buck creek but you can't see it. Very quiet especially because we were the only people there. Close to downtown Highlands. Small but homey and clean. Hot tub was already on and waiting for us."
