Simply hop on the rail trail just 5 minutes from the house. Lots of shopping on 9W in Poughkeepsie and plenty of good eats in New Paltz...one of our favorites being Maggie Mae's. Charming cottage for special occasions

We came to Hyde Park from Richmond, Annapolis and Boston for our daughter’s graduation. With six of us, renting a house made more sense than spending for multiple hotel rooms. This cottage is delightful - clean, perfectly appointed and extremely comfortable. The host is gracious and very responsive. Highly recommended!!!!

Overall this was a very nice property....but there could definitely be some improvements. The kitchen was lacking in some basic needs (no baking pans, no soap for the dishwasher, and no basic supplies like foil that I'm used to finding at other Vrbo's) and most of the cookware needed to be cleaned before we used it. It also felt like poor advertising to say that there were 2 twin beds in the office. There weren't 2 additional beds--there were two 4 inch mats in the closet that someone could put on the floor to sleep on. We didn't find specific bedding for the mats and put oversized sheets on them and took blankets and pillows from other bedrooms. They were somewhat comfortable, but I would have preferred a bed. It worked out, but I don’t think it should have been advertised that way.
