We stayed in a one bedroom waterview Apartment with views over the marina. Sitting on the balcony watching the whale watching boats depart and return was a daily treat. There are several good restaurants within a hundred metres of the complex and the large boat club a few hundred metres up the road. Whale watching cruises were based in the marina so were only a short walk (we went on 2 different cruises and enjoyed them both. We loved our stay.

Nice view of marina from small balcony on 4th floor of tower 1. Basic hotel room. Spacious bathroom however the shower over the bath was a bit precarious for a 5’3 person as it’s so high to step over, especially getting out.

The Mantra is in a great location in Hervey Bay as it is close to all the whale excursions. I wasn’t happy with my room that had the shower over the bath. Very awkward and dangerous for my husband and I who are a pair of oldies.

The very best thing about this hotel was the staff - very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was OK - relatively comfortable and clean - minor issue with the door to the balcony (fixed when we flagged it). External corridors not great but otherwise pretty good for the money. Great location. Great view from our balcony. Plenty of secure parking. Wi-fi didn’t work across the whole apartment, fine in central areas but very limited in our room (tower1, top floor).

Location, location, location. Tha Mantra is on the harbour, right next to where you might want to board a whale watching boat. The room was clean, had a nice view of the harbour and bay and was entirely functional. It is showing its age though. Not one usb port to be found and no ev charging. But then Hervey Bay is not exactly progressive generally, so maybe to be expected. The lighting in the room was fluro and very harsh. But we liked the balcony and the convenience. A good option.
