2nd time staying here and it was superb as usual. Beautiful, clean property with a splendid pool and very friendly staff. It's a stone throw to the beach and all the best bars and restaurants. One slight negative is that if you book via Orbitz and not directly through Rainbow Apts, there is a daily fee to use the air conditioning in the room. This appears to not be the doing of Rainbow Apts, but that of Orbitz who do not mention this fee at the time of booking. I shall take this up with Orbitz, so beware this hidden cost.

Schön angelegte Unterkunft. Sauberkeit bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten gut (z.B. offensichtliche, tote Mücken an den Fliesen). Zimmer war ausreichend Platz für Zwei, allerdings ist die Dusche sehr eng. Hinweis - wer eingeschränkt mobil ist, sollte dies bei Buchung klären, denn einige Zimmer sind nur beschwerlich über viele Treppen zu erreichen. Haben dafür aber Meerblick.

Very modern apartment, very close to beach and u find a supermarket right at the corner! The pool is also nice with a Billiard table beside! Staff very friendly. Very nice kitchen too!!

1st time in Crete

This was our first time in Crete and we couldn't have chosen better accommodation! The apartment was spotless as were the pool and garden areas, the staff extremely helpful and friendly and the position was great - quiet location but only a 4-5 minute stroll to the beach, restaurants and shops. There was a small mini market just outside the apartments which was very convenient. We met people who were returning for their 3rd or 4th time, always a good recommendation! Although it didn't inconvenience us, there is no lift so may be a consideration for less able bodied people unless they request a ground floor apartment - but even so, the staff were only too happy to assist with luggage. We hope to be back at some future date.

It is important to note that our visit to this property was in late February during the off season in Crete. We stayed at the special “luxury” apartment, which is in a separate building across the street from the main Rainbow Apartments. The larger apartment buildings were closed, so we cannot comment on what this facilities is like during its season. We loved staying here, and found the apartment really nice for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen worked well, the sea view and access to the beach below was great, and the manager helped us with everything we needed. Be aware that there is some traffic noise from the road below the apartment, though it is not overwhelming.

Fijn verblijf

Fijn verblijf gehad in deze nette comfortabele studio (superior). Vriendelijk personeel, early check in was geen probleem. Op loopafstand van strand, winkeltjes en restaurants (toeristisch). Veel Engelse toeristen. Het enige minpunt vond ik dat er niet elke dag werd schoongemaakt, niet om de schoonmaak, maar een schone handdoek en het verwijderen afval vind ik toch wel een dagelijkse taak.

Hotel worth staying at

upgraded to superior triple for 2 of us. Flat spacious spotless and cleaned every2-3 days. Pool area also well maintained and very clean. Staff couldnt be more helpful and when you add in that it is 5 min from beach/nightlife but quiet and very well situated for local bus or hired car i would give it 10 out of 10. Superb value for money

rainbow apartments are perfectly situated for both the beach and the tavernas in stalis which is only a short walk away from the accommodation pool bar serves food and drinks at reasonable prices. there is also a bar at the front of the hotel which is used in the evening except on barbeque night which is held at the pool bar once a week had a great holiday would definitely go back

Clean, modern, friendly

As a couple in our 50's, we stayed four nights in a Superior Studio at Rainbow Apartments in early April, which is shoulder season. The complex is setback from the road by a short, stone entryway and garden. There is space to park, perhaps, two cars directly in front of the gate, while the road around the corner can accommodate everyone else. In the off-season, at least, the road has virtually no traffic late at night. The apartment was modern, clean, and quiet. A small safe was in the closet. The bedding was fine. WiFi was fine. It's a good base for exploring with car Heraklion/Knossos (~20 minutes) and sights east (Malia, Ay Nick, Gournia, Lato, Panagia Kera). The kitchenette had fridge, microwave, stove, cookware, and silverware. You may need your own sponge and dish-soap. The nearest supermarket of any size is 5 minutes away in Malia. However, we bought groceries when passing larger supermarkets closer to Heraklion. Maria at the front desk speaks English well, and she was very helpful with sightseeing suggestions tailored to our interests. For example, knowing we would travel later to Rethymno and that we had enjoyed exploring ancient Lato, Maria suggested ancient Elephtherna and its new archaeology museum. (Good advice). We had no need for the A/C in April; in fact, we used the machine for heating the apartment at night. When visiting this part of Crete, we would return to Rainbow.
