We had a really enjoyable week at this hotel. The rooms and facilities were very clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The all-inclusive option was great value, and overall we had a relaxing and positive experience.
The only small downside was that the buffet options for breakfast, lunch and dinner became a little repetitive over the week, although the food itself was of good quality and nicely presented.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
King Minos is a beautiful resort. We have just returned from our 2nd visit in 12 months and it is our favourite place to spend our holidays. The resort is stunning and the perfect place to have a relaxing holiday but close enough to the town to explore if you feel the need to.
However, for us the staff at King Minos are what makes it exceptional. Nothing is ever too much, they make you feel so welcome and have always taken such good care of us, going above and beyond what would ever be expected of them. They are what makes this resort 5 stars and makes us want to keep going back.
Staff are supper friendly we had such a lovely time.
It was my husbands birthday and they even sent a cake to the room as a surprise and the cake was so nice. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Amazing peaceful stay and lovely staff…close to places to rent cars and bikes etc and a short 10min walk to a whole strip of places to eat and smaller shops.
Loved this property, decided to pick this hotel for my solo trip and it was amazing. I felt safe and the room and pool area was beautiful.
Also the staff are all very lovely
The staff was really kind, friendly and helpful. The area is also really quiet and calm. Also the massage and the spa treatment was awesome.
I really recommend this place!
We had an excellent stay in this hotel, which has been completely renovated. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The food served is of good quality and varied, and they also have several vegan options at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Staff were very friendly and attentive in particular the bar staff in both the evening at morning. All went above and beyond to make sure everyone was served and having a great time. Abdul asahe and gobi were excellent in the dinning area and were ao warm and welcoming.

Room was lovely and tastefully decorated. There was however an awful drainage smell as you entered the room. This was raised with the hotel who seemed to just mask it with an air freshener. The hot tub was huge but uncomfortable as didn't have usual moulded seats in it and few bubbles. It was also quite dirty and the wood around it warped and worn so in need of some renovation.
Food was delicious, staff ok although not as attentive as other hotels we've stayed at so was waiting a while to order drinks as couldn't help yourself despite all inclusive.
Pool area was lovely although usual people reserving beds for hours these should be removed if no return after an hour).
Short walk to beach and yes you do need to duck your head to walk under road to access it but not bad. Husband is 5'9" and this wasn't a problem.
Despite some issues we enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing which is what we wanted.

My room was smaller than the pictures on Expedia but fine for just me but would have been small if i was with another person. Cleaned daily and the facilities were good. The shower was lovely and the bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a bath and a larger room despite being a solo traveller. I saw the hotel was largely empty, i think they could have accomodated a free upgrade considering the rooms i saw empty on my floor and others. Staff were hit and miss. Pool staff were a tad dismissive of me (which i had to raise, only to be told they had problems with solo female travellers in the past) but restaurant staff, reception were very accommodating and pleasant. Lack of food choices (apparently this was down to it being end of season) A La Carte wasnt great. Drinks were nice but no afternoon snack bar food (only rolls and yogurts from a fridge outside. This is more a 4 star at a push, if i had to go again, i would book room only and eat out. The pool was freezing, i didnt go in once in 7 days and only used the indoor one. Spa was incredible and worth every penny. All in all i think i could have had a better stay elsewhere for hwat i spent i expected better and was disaapointed but loved Crete on the whole.
The hotel itself is modern and clean, and the overall vibe is more for younger guests, mostly in their 20s and 30s.
Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations for a supposed 5-star stay. The All-Inclusive package was quite limited — after midnight, nothing was included, and even during the day, only one drink per person was allowed per visit to the bar, which felt restrictive. On top of that, several basic cocktails weren’t included, despite being made with the same ingredients as the ones that were.
The food also wasn’t up to the standard you'd expect from a 5-star hotel — both in terms of variety and quality.
We also weren’t able to book the à la carte restaurant, even though it was visibly empty when we asked.
Staff were okay, but the overall service and offering didn’t justify the price or the rating.
We stayed for 5 nights in July in a double room with private hot tub sea view.
To start with the pro’s - the aesthetics and views of the hotel is amazing. The rooms are fantastic, the balcony and the hot tub itself is a very decent size. Purely on aesthetics, you can’t fault the hotel at all.
However that seems to be the only selling point.
The food and drinks were awful and really let the hotel down. The drinks were very inconsistent - in the dinner buffet you could have cocktails on the all inclusive, and these were often decent. However when you go to the pool bar for drinks after dinner, they were awful. The service is slow, they appear very understaffed. They seemed to be big on table service but would never come over. Wouldn’t mind going to the bar to grab the drink myself - but when you do they then tell you to sit down and they’ll bring it over, adding to the wait.
Buffet food was quite limited and was awful. Nice view whilst eating. Basic bits were okay.
We booked the A La Carte restaurant for our final night and was looking forward to not having the buffet food again, however after visiting the A La Carte we wish we had the buffet. The A La Carte was worse. Very limited choice, tiny portions, taste wise very basic/not nice at all. We aren’t fussy eaters yet we were very dissapointed and still hungry after. A lot of the food is frozen and just reheated - it states this on their menu, so the majority aren’t even cooked fresh - not good for an A La Carte treat?!
Very nice hotel. The hotel and surroundings were top class. The food, both breakfast and dinner buffet were not the same very high level - just ordinary
we paid half board which included breakfast and dinner, however, we were charged anytime we wanted water. I feel as though drinks shoukd be inclued in those 2 meals.
