This break was superb.
This break was superb. We were additionally blessed with the best Autumn weather I can recall. The accommodation is set in a wonderful garden, which is currently a celebration of seasonal colours ,and we were greeted by a very hospitable owner, who made us feel welcome and comfortable. A relaxed stay with ease of access to Hereford ,and we were spared any rains and fords.

During difficult times of a pandemic, Stocks Tree Cottage was a very welcome break.
During difficult times of a pandemic, Stocks Tree Cottage was a very welcome break. The Owners are lovely and made us feel welcome (socially distanced) and were helpful.
The Cottage although stripped back for Covid-19 reasons was comfortable, warm and well equipped for our week. Weather wasn't great but it didn't stop us from exploring the area. Lots of walking, we even found a gruffalo! One thing I would be mindful of is this Cottage is rural therefore to find shops etc it is a drive. For us this wasn't a problem and we were happy to be in what felt like the middle of nowhere. Exactly what was needed!
Oh and if your there on a Friday we definitely recommend the wood fired Pizza! We would love to return at some point.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage. It is a short drive to Hereford where there are plenty of supermarkets and sites to see, and is also convenient for National Trust, and a little further for English Hertage sites, Forest of Dean and Ross-on-Wye. The owners are welcoming and the cottage was quaint but with modern amenities.

A lovely cottage that suited us perfectly with the downstairs bedroom and en suite for Dad.
A lovely cottage that suited us perfectly with the downstairs bedroom and en suite for Dad. Very friendly owners who were welcoming but not over bearing. Lovely outside space to eat out or read a book in the lovely garden. Very handy for Hereford and the rest of the county. Extremely peaceful with just the sounds of the birds and insects, the occasional horse passing by and of course, the odd tractor. Would highly recommend.

Sofas uncomfortable, lots of cobwebs over the bed in particular.
Sofas uncomfortable, lots of cobwebs over the bed in particular. Cot and high chair provided, a shame not to also provide a stair gate.
Very comfortable bed, friendly hosts, complimentary food and drink on arrival. Good kitchen, plenty of parking, neighbour's chickens add character.

We had a lovely week here.
We had a lovely week here. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything needed in the way of kitchen utensils. Toiletries, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing liquid for use in the machine were all supplied. The storage heating was very effective and as we were very fortunate with the weather we turned most of the heaters off. Found the bed comfortable. The limited head height in the upstairs bedroom did mean my 6ft tall 17 year old hit his head a couple of times, so this is something to be aware of!
The village doesn't have any amenities and is very quiet - most of the passing traffic is tractors or horses.
Locally Hereford is about a ten minute drive for shops.
We walked up in the Malvern Hills, visited Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and The Weir Garden. Also Ross on Wye and The Forest of Dean.
