Foxhole Cottage - Close to downtown
This charming, sunny 2-story cottage is centrally located in Hendersonville on a private, multi-cabin property, close to downtown (only 3.5 miles). Perfectly situated for exploring DuPont and Pisgah's waterfalls and trails, Asheville, Brevard and more. The historic Foxhole Cottage is ideal for couples, business travelers or friends traveling together. Not suitable for children under the age of 10 or pets.
The Foxhole Cottage has a celebrated history. This 2 bedroom/1.5 bath, 1940's cottage was originally built as a carriage house behind the historical stone house on the property, which was known as the Brightwaters Guesthouse, established in 1938. Upstairs housed 3 rooms - 2 were bedrooms for the cooks who came from Florida in the summers to cook at the Brightwaters Lodge and Dining Room, which used to be in the center of the property. A third room was used for the storage of goods. Renovations in the 1970's enclosed the downstairs (now the living/dining rooms and kitchen and half bath) and combined 2 rooms into 1 large master bedroom upstairs. The name, "Foxhole", is original to the structure.
Today, the Foxhole Cottage has been refreshed and restored to it's former glory, exposing the refinished hardwood floors on the upper level, the original rustic doors and the beamed ceilings.
The Foxhole Cottage is a great house for getting away to enjoy the outdoors.Very close to all of the best mountain biking and hiking trails - DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek and Mills River. The Foxhole Cottage is centrally located to dining, breweries and entertainment in Hendersonville, Brevard and Asheville.

The Foxhole Cottage was perfect for me and my sister for a long weekend! Very clean and nicely decorated with a kitchen with all the basics! We felt very safe in this cottage which is part of a collection of cottages that surround a lovely little park with walking path. The neighborhood is very quiet, but convenient to the main road. It was very nice to be able to open the screened windows in the bedrooms to feel the cool night breeze!
Foxhole cottage is an adorable little house. Very clean & comfortable. Great, quiet location. Hendersonville is such a charming town with plenty of great restaurants and beautiful scenery.
Elisabeth, thanks so much for sharing this house. Cozy and charming. Great place for a girls or couples getaway. Close to Hendersonville with shopping and plenty of restaurants. Can't wait for our next visit!
I surprised my husband with a birthday getaway. I put the address in the GPS and he followed the directions step by step not having any idea where we were going. This place was PERFECT in every way! We loved the history of the property, the architecture, the beauty, the style. It was definitely our favorite stay!
Getting to the house was easy and the parking was perfect. Super cute location and the lights were on. Very easy to use the code to get in. Super impressed with the information the host gave to give you lots of info about hiking and so much more. Really appreciated that! The only thing I did not enjoy was the bed. I know it's a personal choice but the bed is FIRM. The pillows were great though :). I had a question about the heat and the host quickly responded.
It was an extremely nice place to stay and the outdoor seatings that are available thru out the property really added to our visit. Very private and quiet.
Our stay was what we were hoping to expect, cozy, quiet, close to everything if we needed it. The owner was very helpful with what we were having difficulty doing. We will definitely keep this serene place on our list to visit again.
The property was close to the waterfalls in the area but also close to the cute town of Hendersonville. The house was very clean and the decor was fabulous.
This cottage is delightful. Perfect location, size. Beyond clean. This was our first outing since COVID. We felt save. Thank you. I would suggest smaller coffee cups. Your are beautiful but heavy. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay. This is our 46 season on Hendersonville. Thank you for a grand experience.

WONDERFUL Weekend getaway!
Cute, clean and homey ! We have stayed at several B and B’s and cabins but none trump the condition of this cottage, down to the little details. The management and owners of these properties are top notch in my book. The decor is updated and bright. The Owner Elisabeth was so knowledgeable and helpful. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND!❤️

Wonderful place with a lot of history. Close to everything.
We stayed in the cottage for a month. Elizabeth was wonderful and was always available for questions. The only issue we had is that you only have access to basic cable so very little channels available unless you love to shop. This is an issue for only those staying more than a few days. This cottage is located close to everything. Great place and very private.
The cottage was all the owner said it was and more. It was beautiful, clean, and had all the amenities. The owner was very helpful with lots of recommendations about local events and good resturants. This is a gem of a find for a wonderful getaway.

All our needs were met and this adorable house!
We had such a great time so we extended our stay. The house is not only super functional but I love the history behind it. Elizabeth met us with the biggest smile and a homemade treat on the table. She was ready to help us with anything we needed. I highly recommend this adorable house. I love that the kitchen was so well stocked with all the plates and accessories that we needed!

Cozy cottage, wonderful hostess!
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the Foxhole Cottage! Elisabeth welcomed us on our first day and was very gracious to meet us at our requested time. She's very knowledgeable of the area, and gave us excellent recommendations. She was also very accessible through text and email, and answered our messages promptly.
The Foxhole Cottage is very charming, well-maintained, clean, and well appointed. It had everything we needed for our 6-night stay. It is conviniently located near grocery stores, restaurants, and hiking trails. It is a great base camp if you would like to go to Blue Ridge Parkway, DuPont State Forest, Asheville, and Chimney Rock.
We already recommended Elisabeth and the Foxhole Cottage to our friends who asked about our trip, and we would definitely want to stay there when we go back to WNC.
