Cabin in the Meadow-Peaceful 1BR 20Acre Rural Retreat-HotTub-WiFi-Near Asheville
Property Location: The cabin is out in the country between historic Hendersonville and the Bat Cave/Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area, Southeast of Asheville amidst the many hiking areas of Hickory Nut Gorge and the surrounding areas. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available both in our pond and at Clear Creek – state trout waters that adjoin our property.
Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, our 20-acre property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.
SPRING: Spring days are warmer (60-76) while nights remain chilly (36-53). Spring is great for hiking followed by a dip in the hot tub in the evening. Spring sometimes has a cold spell that drops temperatures near freezing for a night or two. We keep the fireplace pilot lit until the night time temperature consistently remains above 60 degrees, at which point the fireplace is turned off for the summer.
SUMMER: In summer months average temperatures are in the low to mid 80s with nights cooling down into the 60s. Perfect for an evening soak in the hot tub! Frequently summer days feature a brief cooling thunderstorm in the late afternoon.
FALL: In the Fall temperatures drop from highs averaging 78 in September to 59 in November. Lows average 57 in September and drop to 36 in November. It’s fireplace time!
WINTER: Weather is brisk to chilly in the winter, occasionally dipping below freezing, but snow is fairly rare. The cozy gas log fireplace and the hot tub on the covered porch will keep you warm! Highs hover around 50 with highly variable lows averaging a bit below freezing.
Cabin Location: The Cabin in the Meadow at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. It is the easiest to get to, just a few dozen feet from the public country road, and within walking distance to our pond. You will see evergreen trees surrounding the yard and, especially in winter, and the wooded hills beyond. Depending on recent rainfall, you may hear Clear Creek, which is accessible further down across the public road.
Cabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has a gas BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond.
Area Activities: While many guests simply relax on the property for their entire stay, there is much to do in the area – hiking Chimney Rock Park, a boat tour of Lake Lure, a visit to Historic Hendersonville, dining at the many great area restaurants just a short drive away, visiting the many surrounding state and national parks and forests (Dupont, Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway), and of course visiting the famous Biltmore Estate. Horseback riding is available in the area, as are visits to numerous wineries, and breweries, plus a cidery and meadery, many of which have live music and food trucks. Hiking locations are abundant. Spring and fall driving tours of our apple growing country side are available with many fruit stands to select from.
Seasons: The property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.
Surveillance device notice: We are in the process of adding cameras to our properties. Cameras are near stairs to the cabin and cover the stairs and parking space. Cameras record video. Additional cameras on our property cover portions of the road to the cabins (Wyatt Lane). Interior and hot tub areas are NOT covered.
The guest must sign a Vacation Rental Agreement, as required by NC law, within 24 hours of booking or the reservation will be canceled.

This was a quick decompressing trip for me and my husband. The booking and check in process was exceptionally smooth. This was a last minute booking. The cabin was extremely clean and very well stocked. The owners were in contact via text message and provided a wealth of information on the cabin and area. The private hit tub was icing on the cake. I got much need rest, because it was so relaxing and peaceful.
Our experience at the cabin was amazing. Kaye truly went above and beyond. The property is gorgeous and the cabin was very clean and comfortable inside. Kaye makes sure to have detailed instructions on everything needed to maintain the cabinbduring your stay, including how to work the hottub. She also had details sbout things to do in the area. My experience was the best that ive had in a long time. I highly recommend this property and felt like i was treated with great care.
Everything was wonderful! Extremely clean, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Had a wonderful time fishing at the pond, relaxing in the hot tub , meeting and talking with owners for a while, and even enjoyed hanging out with some of the other cabin guest. Loved how we were able to share some of the same experiences with David. Felt just like home . Had a great time and can’t wait to come back soon. Thanks again Kaye and David!

The pictures do not do this place justice. The hot tub was incredible and located on the back porch, surrounded by trees and blocked by a privacy wall. The cabin was so clean and the bed was very comfortable. Kaye also provided robes and slippers to lounge around in. She was very responsive and willing to talk if we needed anything. You may lose service on your way here (especially coming from Asheville) so make sure you already have the address in your gps. We did rely on the paper map once or twice…which was fine but just a heads up. We did walk to the pond and it was quiet and peaceful. We had a rainy visit so on Saturday, we mostly lounged around and played board games on the porch (it was magical, honestly). It gave us a chance to slow down and rest. I’ve already been trying to find a weekend to come back in the Fall so we can take advantage of the fireplace. Oh and she provided a list of restaurants near.. we went to postero for my birthday dinner on Friday (we made reservations cause it was packed) and it was SO GOOD! I highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Cabin. Really like the location as it was easy to get to a lot of great hiking and wonderful wineries. The cabin is comfortable and we really enjoyed the hot tub and deck.
I had a great stay here to do some hiking. It’s a great location for a number of different hiking areas. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We have stayed at the same cabin around 15 years ago. It is a great weekend getaway for my bride and me. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would recommend this vacation to anyone looking to have a relaxing time and spend time together.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the " Cabin in the Meadows". As a first time trip together, this stay was more than we could have expected. The area and the cabin were a breathe of fresh air, not to mention the hot tub. We would definitely stay again.
Exactly as described in the listing, a peaceful rural property. Kaye was a very responsive host, and the cabin was super clean and stocked with everything I needed. I loved the rocking chairs on the front porch and walking to the nearby pond to sit for a while and enjoy the quiet. I will definitely recommend these cabins to family and friends!
The property was beautiful! The view of the apple trees and mountains make you appreciate the labor of love involved in producing apples. My wife and i celebrated her birthday here in Cabin in the Meadow and had a wonderful time! The cabin was so clean and well thought out with nice hosts like David and Kaye. There attention to detail and everything you need to have a nice stay is there! And with wine tasting and town in just a few minutes drive. We would definitely stay here again! Great Cabin
Stayed here for a "mini honeymoon" The cabin was immaculate, owner was helpful with suggestions. My major complaint is that the couch was terrible. It was hard to sit and enjoy the fireplace or a movie on TV because it was very uncomfortable and terribly noisy so we didn't stay at the cabin that much.
We really enjoyed Hendersonville and Chimney Rock.
The experience was perfect, exceeded expectations!! We were notified well ahead of time of a malfunction with the oven which allowed us to prepare accordingly, not a problem at all.
Loved the hot tub!! Overall, very accommodating...wish we could have stayed longer. A short drive to Chimney Rock, Hendersonville, Asheville, etc. Lot's of fine dining and other activities in and around the area. Would highly recommend to any one looking for a somewhat secluded getaway. Would definetly book a stay there again!!
A pretty little cabin that was clean and well maintained. Ms Kaye even had many little extras to add to the experience (robes, disposable slippers, kitchen and cooking supplies). So peaceful! We enjoyed listening to the birds chirping and doing absolutely nothing. While there was a TV, we didn’t watch it and didn’t miss it. Would love to return some day! Highly recommend this little Cabin In The Meadiw!
Kaye is the best host we have had hands down in the 3 years we have been renting cabins. She was easily accessible. The attention to detail she paid to ensure our cabin had everything we needed was remarkable. Great cabin and location. We didn’t want to leave!
Lovely one bedroom wood cottage in apple country NC.
Comfortable queen size bed, kitchen with range/microwave fridge supplied with all necessary amenities.
Rock on covered porch and watch hummingbirds! Dip in private hot tub and hit all the local places including Chimney Rock, Bat Cave and Hendersonville for local art scene.
We will be back!
