Se trata sólo de una suposición, porque hasta ahora, la inscripción no se ha podido descifrar con certeza – uno de los muchos secretos que envuelven al símbolo dorado de Innsbruck. Un símbolo del antiguo centro de Europa. Un reflejo de las contradicciones en tiempo de grandes cambios. El espléndido mirador fue encargado por el emperador Maximiliano I en 1500 y está recubierto con 2.657 tejas de cobre doradas al fuego, todas ellas originales.
