We had a wonderful Valentine's Day spent in this lovely cabin. The place was decorated with hearts and cute stuffed bears, and the hosts even set up some wine and chocolates for us - it was so so sweet! The location was nice and quiet. The kitchen, grill, and firepit were fantastic - we did a lot of cooking, grilling, and staring at the stars. Size was nice and cozy but also quite modern with more oldie-decor to it so it was a great vibe, and the giant couch and table setup was perfect for playing boardgames and hanging out. We also drove down to the Mississippi river in Dubuque and even saw an eagle and a hawk eating a fish on the ice - pretty awesome stuff to escape the city!

Great anniversary weekend.

This place was by far one of the best VRBOs we've stayed in. Exceptionally clean and had the best stocked kitchen I've ever had. Every type of cooking utensil, pots pans, plates ect that I needed.Hosts were great! We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and were surprised with a bottle of wine!Highly recommend.

After Covid I have stayed in a number of vacation homes and This was by far the nicest place that I have stayed. It was absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness of the place the decor, the bunnies in the yard just the difference in getting away has made me a happier person.!!!

Amazing Cozy Getaway ** Highly Recommend!!!

We absolutely loved the Crooked Creek Cabin... suited our style of rustic, off the beaten path, but still close to things! The Hosts have thought of everything and offer so many amenities and things you might need... so grateful we found this place!! Very easy to find, check in and out. The bed is super comfy & loved being able to utilize the washer & dryer. We stayed for 3 nights, will definitely recommend to others & hope to stay again!!! Thanks so much for being a class act!!!

Warm, cozy stay

We had a wonderful stay for a weekend. The cabin is well equipped with plenty of towels, blankets, and all of the kitchen essentials from dishes and spices to coffee and utensils. The cabin had multiple heaters so we kept very warm. There were also several fans and an in wall air conditioner so you are sure to have plenty of ways to keep you comfortable all year round. The location was ideal - close enough to Galena and Dubuque for activities but far enough to feel quiet contentment away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend this cabin for a couples get away. Would book again.

I usually never leave reviews but this property defiantly deserves 1, we have stayed at several ( the wife and I) this was our favorite stay , it was super clean, nicely decorated all the feeling of home, the owners spared nothing it was all there, grill,firepits,extra pillows,fans, you name it ,they had it there for you even the little stuff that we aways bring,,perfect country location but just moments away from galina /Elizabeth iL.ect so very peaceful, was a great 50th Birthday get away ,,WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.. thank you for a wonderful stay !!!!!!

Dubuque and Galena Getaway

Location perfect. Short distance to both. The cabin was so quaint and cozy. Soo clean and nicely decorated. Made you feel right at home. In addition so many amenities included. The decor , little night lights throughout, and anything you may need while there was available. We also had access to three fireplaces for peace and solitude at the end of the day. The owners truly take pride with their property. Highly recommended and would definitely return!!

Amazing Gem for a Couple’s Getaway

We were amazed at the property. It was incredibly well done, very cute, and had a ton of amenities. We arrived to a bottle of wine that was delightful. The kitchen had all kinds of staples and even a large variety of spices. Even the bathroom had ibuprofen and bandaids. The bed was like sleeping a cloud, it was the best bed we’ve ever had in a VRBO. The front porch was beautiful, and every morning we started the day with coffee and a light breakfast on the porch, enjoying the beautiful weather and nature. The property is also Centrally located to several decent sized cities, about 15 minutes from Galena with vineyards, a distillery, and a very cute downtown shopping area, 15 minutes from Dubuque (with an amazing farmers market and bars and restaurants), and from Plattevillle with a bunch of restaurants. We will be recommending this to our friends and will be back ourselves.
