Renovations under way. But for now its run down.
The best thing about this place is it proximity to other attractions. They are doing construction 12/2019 so maybe later this year the place will be nicer but for now its a very very run down place to stay. See photo... If you're tall you have to put your feet in the shower to use the toilet

budget hotel
The photo is true. I had a room with a balcony which faced the street. All my meals were included. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. People were very friendly and accommodating.

The ideal location
Great location. Small Room but quite adequate. Breakfast variety needs improvement and a fan to wipe away all the flies and bugs. There was a beetle in a sauce that remained inside for the whole bf time. Friendly and smiley service

Upon arriving to the hotel the front lobby was under renovations, construction materials on the floor and rubble on the street, the room was clean but there was not hot water available on the bathroom, nice location close to plaza vieja and the Malecón.

The property is located at very noise street. The access restriction for guest visitors is not well understood for the people working at reception.

Excellent location for sightseeing. Hotel is undergoing improvements, and needs it! Work half done around window of my room. Just needed somewhere to lay my head for 1 night and, for the price paid, this was okay. Staff excellent. Left my luggage safely at reception until 4pm when taxi picked me up to continue my trip on Cuba :-)

Budget hotel in Cuba
This is a budget hotel in Cuba, so expect to get what you paid for... great location, minimal breakfast, aged furniture, but a great value for money. The other hotels in the area are triple the price minimum. We would stay here again.

This property has a very good location. It is within walking distance of many sight seeing areas, the malecon and restaurants. The staff were very helpful at all times. They were also very friendly and always greeted you each time we crossed paths. Breakfast was included in our stay and was pretty good. Omelette with toast, fruit and coffee. Great views from the breakfast area too, with much of the city and ocean on display. You can also see the Capitol building really well too. The rooms were okay, although very dark. There was no natural light. The showers were good, although had a weird smell sometimes. Other than that overall it was a comfortable stay.

Stay in Habana Vieja
We stayed at the hotel for 2 days. Continental breakfast was more or less OK. air-conditioner was very noisy and we had to turn off time by time. Safe was not working at the room, fortunately worked at the reception (lady tried to charge 2 CUCs a day but after checking my reservation it was for free). Local streets are not clean and very often annoying cubans proposed different services (food, different souvenirs, sigars, and even prostitutes). But in principal old Havana was safe as cubans were not aggressive.WIFI was not available.Internet was possible on the hotel's PC but the hotel didn't sell the cards.

Reasonable hotel, but better to grab a Casa.
The Lido, like many Cuban buildings, has seen better days. However, it was clean, had working air conditioning and included a hot and cold buffet breakfast. They arranged a collectivo taxi to vinales for us and the lobby bar is excellently priced! A reasonable stay, however you get much more for your money at the innumerable Casa's all around Cuba.

Good location, poor quality
The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Havana. Downside is if you are street side the hotel is opposite a nursery, which is very noisy. Breakfast is very basic and limited. The room we stayed in was small and we could not fully open the bathroom door as I clashed with the bed.

Close to Old Havna
We had TV, bath towels, shampoo, body cream, soap, A/C(very noisy) and refrigerator in our room. But NO window in the bedroom(actually small window in the bathroom though), NO hair dryer. The hotel had a small restaurant on the roof and a simple bar on the base floor(I don't recommend both). Houses and buildings where Cuban people were living surrounded the hotel. Some buildings were collapsing(in Havana, it's not unusual though). We could see the usual Cuba lifestyle from the hotel. Around the hotel, it was dark at the night and the roads were dirty, but we didn't feel danger. Anyway, the price was very cheep and the location was close to old Havana (five minutes to central park by walk).

good location and very close to Parque Central
The hotel is located very close to Parque central ,Old Havana so no need for a taxi.The area around where the hotel is very noisy and dirty but that is Cuba.If you are not used to this try to find a better area and hotel. The breakfast in the morning was good and you have it right on the terrace with good views.The AC in the room was noisy and bathroom drains don't work well.The staff are good and friendly .I was there for two nights and asked for a change of room after the first night.. So if you are prepared for all this then it is an OK hotel for the price and convenience .No safety box in the room but you can get one in reception for 2 CUC (pesos)

I am an 18 year old, scandinavian girl and i travelled alone. The location is quite central in Habana Vieja, but the street is scary to walk through. I did not feel safe in this neighbourhood, and the street lights were turned off early leaving it too dark to be outside after seven. There are also hard to find grocery stores close by, but there are some expensive and not very good restaurants. The chef I met once at breakfast was too intense, and followed me to me room trying to make me spend all my meals at the hotel and end the night in my room. Not OK. There is one computer available at the hotel, but it is close to Hotel Mercury Sevilla which offers wifi. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable, after Cuban standards.

Disappointing Stay
This hotel was disappointing. We didn't have hot water, our towels and sheets were ripped and stained, and we had cockroaches in our room. The front desk staff was rude and unconcerned with assisting us. The hotel is located in a shady neighborhood, and we were approximately 10 minutes away from the nearest taxi area or restaurant. I would not recommend this hotel!

Great location but too many issues
Hotel has too many issues. No hot water for the duration of the stay. Last 24 hours had no water in the hotel (supposedly a broken pipe but no workers were seen to indicate that anything was being done). AC worked but not perfectly but no wifi available at all. The best part is that the hotel is perfectly located to Old Havana
