Great stay. Lake beautiful. Excellent way to spend the end of the summer. The beds are very comfortable, and I loved looking at the lake on the screened-in back porch.
It was myself and nephew and his family. They are from Massachusetts and it was good for everybody. Have a big family and a lot of them are from out of state and I hope it’s available when they come. Thank you so much
Have asked VRBO to give us the listing we stayed in for a review but that has not yet come. We did not stay at this property, "Songbird" because the owner claimed that it had on-going construction issues. However, our VRBO contact, Jessi, provided an equally nice place within a day's notice for the same price, "Blues Brothers Hideaway". That is the property I am reviewing here. For the two of us (seniors), there was an abundance of room. We were really looking forward to a lake house experience and found the boat dock contributed to that. One sunny afternoon for sunbathing. The property was neatly groomed. Everything was satisfactorily clean. There were plenty of cooking pots, pans, equipment, plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, etc. for how we like to cook.It rained three of four days, so it was nice to have covered decks to sit out under and a cozy living room to watch TV and read in. Even though the contours to and from the house are typically steep for Lake Harmony, there were ample quiet streets/roads for walking and running once you get out to them. Just wish we had a boat. Would have rented one if it had not been so rainy.
It was a bit difficult to find the property at night in the dark. Everything else was fantastic. The home was very comfortable and relaxing, and the lake access was phenomenal.
Driveway a little tight for truck and trailer and that would be my only "meh"... Great place.. Great location. Great pizza at the Reed Creek General Store! Thank you for having us!
The neighborhood was friendly. The lake was simply beautiful. We found all the services in Hartwell. The house was rustic, but we were able to rest. The only detail was that the air conditioning system was noisy. Overall we liked the place and we had a great vacation.

Nice property for recreational vacationers
House is a bit dated, but very functional for your everyday needs.
Charcoal Grills, no gas grills
Would not recommend a boat and trailer, unless small, like a jet ski, or a small boat. Parking and access is very limited.
Very quiet area.
Lots of nature to enjoy.
Screened in porch area is relaxing and spacious.

Basic maintenance not being done.
Third time staying here. Many things not being fixed or maintained. Location is great! Nice quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Screened in porch is enjoyable. View of lake is limited. Living room furniture is very comfortable as is the bed. Nice but could be a much nicer place if basic maintenance was done.

Disaster
Dirty, then hot water heater goes out. Communication with owners son was horrible.
Had to move to another place, lost a full day of our short vacation.

Hartwell fishing
We stayed here for a weekend fishing trip on Lake Hartwell. The property is adequate but is not as nice as the pictures make it appear. The showers in both bathrooms barely work. One shower in the master bath has a note laying on the sink next to it, saying not to use it because it doesn’t drain. The property has directv, but only 3 channels work. The rest get an error message.
But the biggest problem, roaches! They’re everywhere, especially in the bathrooms.
If the property were cleaned up and the roaches eradicated, it would be a great place to stay. But as it sits, it’s not worth the nightly price tag.

The check-in process was easy and the property manager was very communicative. The dock was great, in a private, quiet cove with plenty of room to swim and enough space to dock a pontoon. The grass was not cut so it was difficult to play games in the yard. I mentioned this to the property manager but no one ever came to cut it while we were there. The house was not well-maintained. The doors didn’t close and latch properly (even some of the exterior doors had this issue). The bedding was not clean when we arrived, we had to wash the sheets before we could sleep in them. The floors were dirty - if you walked around barefoot your feet became dirty. There were roaches in one of the beds, as well. Ultimately, we rented this place for the lake access and a fun long weekend on the water. Once we shifted to a “we’re camping” mindset, we were able to manage. The house could be amazing if it were just cleaned and maintained regularly. It is older and not updated, but for the price on the lake with a dock, I didn’t mind that part. When I reached out to the property manager, they were as helpful as possible, promised to notify the owner, and even issued me a partial refund.

Lake Hartwell Fishing Trip
There's just not enough space and the VERBO app isn't phone friendly enough to write what needs to be said.
When contacted and asked about the other reviews and the cleanliness of the property I was told that new cleaning people were hired. Well, if that's the case, they suck too.
The property is an older double wide trailer with an addition added. It's structurally sound, but the best way to describe what it's like is to think of a one star hotel. That's about the best it's going to be. But it's on the lake with a top shelf covered dock.
Problems;
1. It wasn't filthy, but it was a long way from clean.
2. While doing a meal a roach ran up my buddies leg.
3. I killed another one over by the stove.
4. The fan blades in the box fan in the master bed room had black dirt and dust caked on the leading edges.
5. The small shower in the master doesn't drain well at all. The good news is the other shower does.
6. Mold growing on the ceiling of the back porch.
7. The door going from the kitchen to the back porch was EXTREMELY difficult to get to latch, it may not have locked correctly.
8. The grills were full of burned coals and the ash bucket was full.
9. Lawn chairs and a coffee cup were left on the dock by the previous guests and the "new" cleaning crew doesn't check it.
10. The path to the dock is sketchy at best.

The house was great no issues with the stay or accommodations. Parking for a boat is not good.
Second time staying here. We like the quiet location and country setting. Jessica does a great job taking care of our needs! This home is a good deal for the money. Summer camp feel. Real nice porch! We visit relatives that live nearby.
THE PLACE WAS REALLY NICE HAD A GOOD TIME. WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF BACK YARD HAD BEEN CUT. DID EXPERIANCE PALMETTO BUGS IN KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM, NOT TO PLEASANT. OVEN COULD USE UPGRADE.
It was quiet and relaxing. A little far from grocery stores but totally worth it. The only issue was the property was not cleaned when we arrived. The property manager had someone there very quickly and it was done in about an hour and a half. Another suggestion would be to clear the vines, bushes etc from the front entrance. Poison Ivy is growing over the door.
Nice neighborhood. Host was very responsive. If you like a summer camp feel, you will like this place. If you are a perfectionists, this is not the place for you. Nice open layout. Comfy beds. Important things are clean. Deck and porch could be better.

Lake house
Pro’s -The house was larger than expected so had lots of room to cook thanksgiving dinner and sofas were great for watching parade and game. The covered deck was perfect for eating outside with a large table and lots of room. Also the entire deck is enclosed so could let dogs run around on it. Great dock and open back yard although steep drop to water. The harbor light marina coupon was awesome and boat we used was really nice - people there very helpful. Con’s - All of the showers were difficult if you are tall - shower heads very low. The light over dining room table is so dusty - gross. The two bedroom door handles don’t work - can’t keep door closed. Washing machine is really loud.
Was new to this area and as vrbo doesn’t give exact location until you pay it’s hard to get a feel for area. This was very rural - 20 minutes to town and house next door had chickens. House is at end of creek so view is okay but not great. Would be good for swimming as at end so not much boat traffic.
