The Beach House at Drifting Sands

"I don’t ever leave reviews, however, we’ll never stay there again (Labor Day weekend). The Bad: I booked 2 standard rooms, but somehow got 2 efficiencies; which are NOT updated at all. The carpet is hanging by a thread. The bathrooms have no electric outlets and are very outdated. No tables/chairs to sit, unless you hang out in the tiny kitchen which sits 2 (tight). TV is small. The wall mirrors were part of a non-existent dresser. Only one outlet to plug their barely functioning hair dryer. Which had to be placed on the floor since there’s no accommodating furniture. The A/C is SOOOO loud, it’s distracting. The curtains were HORRIBLE. Wrinkled and lightweight (not blackout type), there were different color panels (as if not from the same set). 4 panels to cover the sliding door but 3 different lengths. As soon as the sun was up, so were we. The 2nd room had 2 panels and didn’t cover the sliding glass door. It’s obvious they put together whatever leftovers to these rooms from the updated section of the hotel. No USB plugs anywhere. No alarm clock provided. Must’ve been last updated in the 80s. The Good: staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is cute and has a few useful snacks/drinks for purchase. The beds/sheets were comfy and clean. Bathroom had great water pressure. Towels are clean. Shower toiletries provided were nice. Location is convenient (easy in/out). Plenty of parking. I hear the standard rooms are nice/updated…. wish I got what I booked."

"Checking process was smooth. Clean and comfortable suit with good size kitchen. Daily cleaning was done on time. Pool is small but great for families with children. Roof top is beautiful to watch the sunset. Had a very good dinner at the Salt restaurant. Staff were friendly and professional. All in all it was a very positive experience."

"This property was perfect for what we needed. The layout is super smart because the bedrooms are on the first floor, which allows for bright and open living space on the second floor. It also allows for nice views. The rooftop space is so lovely. The bedrooms are tight, which is evident from the photos. We didn’t mind that. we didn’t need more space. But we weren’t sure where to put our fishing rods and beach chairs, etc.I’m sure if I asked the host he would’ve had a suggestion. He was so helpful. And so responsive. When there were things we didn’t know or couldn’t find, he had a solution available or took care of it immediately.In terms of the location of the house, you really can’t beat it. We didn’t even wear flip-flops from our house to the beach. It was so close. And that Beach was a Life guard Beach, which we really appreciated.My only recommendation to our lovely host would be to do an end of season deep cleaning. It did bother us slightly that parts of the kitchen felt like they needed cleaning. The blinds, the cabinets, misc. The appliances, counters and seating/eating areas were all clean and so was the rest of the house, including bathrooms. I feel confident that, having shared that feedback with the host, he will jump in and address it. It was a great stay and we have no reservations about recommending to others."

"Beautiful house that has everything you could possibly need. Location was perfect, plenty to do in the area without having to drive anywhere. Host was very responsive, check in was smooth, highly recommend. Hope to stay there again next year."
