"The hotel is well situated in the centre of Bakewell, only stayed for one night in a classic room (the basic) which was large, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in hotel restaurant the evening menu was a bit limited for me (I’m a fussy eater) but the food was good, breakfast was excellent good variety on continental and freshly cooked hot breakfast and the dining room staff were friendly and helpful. All together I have no complaints "
"The room was compact but lovely. I was dissapointed thay we had to pay extra for a swim. It does say that it is part of the spa but it is also is under hotels with pools "
"Recently enjoyed a 2nt stay for a family wedding. The staff are simply the best - across the board from the reception, restaurant team, bar staff, function 'master of ceremony' - even the housekeeping team, could not have been more friendly, professional, helpful, courteous and keen to go above and beyond the make ours and the rest of the guests stay a thoroughly excellent experience. Without being seen or heard, the back of house team knocked it out of the park because their efforts enabled everything to play out seamlessly at front of house - well done all of you! Particular shout out to Katti who looked after us at breakfast and could not have been more helpful.
Yes, the rooms are a little dated but were clean, comfortable and gave all the expected facilities (tea/coffee/biscuits etc. TV, hairdryer, iron, very comfortable bed, bath /shower, toiletries & good towels). If you're wanting 5*, spend 3x more and go elsewhere but this place gave everything we could need at a very affordable price. We had an absolute ball and look forward to the next opportunity to stay here again. "
"We stayed for a last minute break with our dog. The room was spacious and clean. A lovely big bathroom. We had drinks in the bar at night and a nice breakfast the next morning. We really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, made a fuss of our dog and made us feel more than welcome. "
"Lovely helpful staff. Changed rooms as shower had no water, next room shower drizzled and was broken in its wall fixings. Could all do with a spruce up. Really enjoyed the comfy bedroom, relaxed public area. "
