Home Inn and Springs review

Place is foul. Looks like a good place to get murdered. Resembles a crime scene. Staff is horrific with regards to guest services. We had no choice to book here due to a shortages of rooms in the Hartford area. We left and slept in our car at the airport.

Property was clean but worn out; cigarette and marijuana odor throughout building and our nonsmoking room. However, even though check-in ended at 9pm, they did wait for our arrival later in the evening, which was kind.

Staff was really nice. The entire first floor smelled of smoke, the locks on the exterior doors did not work, and the building has some deferred maintenance issues. The furniture is really dated and not that sturdy. No elevator as far as i could tell. Location is quiet and "off the beaten path" so to speak.

I was there for twenty minutes before booking elsewhere and leaving. The whole place smells like an ashtray, mixed with car air freshener. There was urine on the toilet seat. The place is dated and dirty. I’m surprised Expedia does business with them. The guy working the desk was very pleasant.

Dirty, grungy, outdated, filthy, disgusting. Smelled like urine, mildew and smoke everywhere. Bed had hairs and food crumbs throughout. Comforter was absolutely disgusting. Left within 20 minutes of being there. The guy at the front desk was nice.

We cannot recommend AT ALL. Stained carpets, horrible smell in hallways, holes in blankets, not clean at all. We quickly checked in, Jason was very nice, then left. Front desk closed, so we couldn't complain or move to another hotel.

Not recommended

The place stunk so bad, like they only rented rooms to stray cats that smoked cigarettes. It was very dirty. We didnt take our shoes off at all in the room. the hallways and rugs were gross. I wouldve requested a refund and went somewhere else but it was kinda late and i had my 12 yr old son with me.

Should’ve just slept in my car

Very disappointed for the price I paid. Lobby closed at 9 and despite confirming the reservation earlier that evening, took about 30 minutes to get in contact with anyone to check in. After showering I felt dirtier than I started. Everything was very worn, stained, gross, and smelly. Everything reeked of cigarettes even in a non smoking room. The beds were super uncomfortable. Expect a motel 6 feel for 3x the price.

Poorly maintained facility

The carpet was worn and dirty. There was mouse/rat poop on the floor of the vanity. There was no housekeeping during our stay. They left one small bottle of shampoo and one small bar of soap for two people for three nights. No change of towels. They should at least have left three sets of towels for each person, if they were intending not to service us during the stay. As a security feature, you supposedly needed the room key to access the building from outside. However, the door did not close in the first place, leaving us feeling very vulnerable. Also, we had to really yank on the door to the room to make sure it was closed, as it did not fully close on its own. We made sure we used all the locks on the door to prevent intruders coming in. There was no one on the desk from 9PM until 8AM each day.

Very unfortunate

The price was right for a quick stopover but the pictures did not match the conditions of the hotel. Luckily the front desk person for check in and check out were super helpful and kind. The hotel is very dated. There are old bedspreads, carpet and curtains that smell like smoke. I was given a non smoking room but it did not help. The hallway was run down with a heavy smoke smell. Although the bed was adequate I was not comfortable.
