The best area to stay in Hanja-Ri is the area surrounding the Jeonju Hanok Village, as it offers the most convenient access to the region's main attractions and a unique cultural experience.

This neighbourhood is the main hub for visitors, known for its traditional Korean houses with distinctive curved roofs. It's very walkable, with narrow alleys leading to craft shops, tea houses, and small museums. The village is well-preserved and provides a glimpse into traditional Korean life, with the Gyeonggijeon Shrine and Jeondong Catholic Church nearby.

Couples looking for a memorable and culturally rich experience will find this area particularly appealing. Staying within or very close to the Hanok Village allows for easy exploration of its charming streets, enjoying traditional performances, and sampling local delicacies like bibimbap at the many restaurants. Many hanoks have been converted into guesthouses, offering a unique stay.

For travellers prioritising modern comforts and a slightly quieter base while still being close to the action, the hotels just outside the Hanok Village, particularly those near the Jeonju Stream, are an excellent choice.

The best time to visit Hanja-Ri is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to October) when the weather is mild and pleasant.

Spring in Hanja-Ri brings comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This is an excellent time for outdoor activities such as exploring the walking trails around the Boseong Green Tea Fields, which are particularly lush and vibrant during this period. The gentle breezes make it ideal for leisurely strolls through the tea plantations or enjoying a picnic with scenic views.

Autumn offers similarly agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 10°C and 20°C. The landscape transforms with beautiful autumnal colours, especially in the surrounding hills and mountains, making it great for photography and nature enthusiasts. The cooler, drier air is also ideal for visiting nearby historical sites or enjoying a traditional Korean meal outdoors without the humidity of summer.
