"Good things — The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower area were clean, and the view outside the tent was beautiful. The staff was also extremely helpful and friendly. Bad things — The tent itself was not as clean as expected, with many bugs on the ceiling and walls. The floor was also not properly cleaned. The fireplace was ineffective and created more problems than comfort. Smoke repeatedly triggered the fire alarm and woke us up in the middle of the night. Since it was around 40°F outside, we ended up sleeping in the cold. At one point, the tent became filled with smoke. We were advised to open the curtains to let the smoke out, but that made the tent unbearably cold. This was the biggest downside of the stay. I would not recommend staying here during colder weather conditions.Considering the experience, it was not worth what we paid."

"Overall we had a nice stay here. The location was great and super close to the park entrance. We also played mini golf across the street at Pirate’s Cove one night. The room itself was fine. The hot water takes forever to get hot and the shower head is weak. There is also zero shelving in the bathroom for anything. The breakfast provided is coffee, blueberry muffins, Greek yogurt and apples so more of a snack."

"I’m not sure I would stay here again after our experience. Before arriving, I messaged the hotel to let them know we’d be checking in very late and specifically asked them to make sure the keypad code would work when we got there. Due to work, we didn’t arrive until almost 2am after an 8 hour drive only to find the code didn’t work. We tried multiple times and called the number they provided, even though they state they only answer from 9am–6pm. No one answered. Their voicemail suggested calling Bar Harbor police for lockout assistance, but when we called, the police had no idea what we were talking about and said the hotel had never contacted them about this arrangement. At 2am, after an 8 hour drive, with no available hotel rooms anywhere nearby, we ended up sleeping in our car. It was cold, uncomfortable, and we only got about two hours of sleep before having to be up again at 6:30am. After all of that, the hotel’s response was to refund the missed night and offer free firewood, which felt pretty dismissive considering the situation. The property itself wasn’t bad, but the lack of emergency support completely ruined the experience for us. If you don’t have a front desk, there should absolutely be someone available to help guests in situations like this especially when you know they’re arriving late. I would strongly caution anyone planning a late check-in to make sure they have a reliable way to contact someone before arriving."

"This was our second time here, and it was just as amazing as the first time. This time we brought our children; and they also love it. We were able to peacefully hang out at our tent and have a fire, but also we spent time at the lodge at the outdoor gas fire pit while the kids played ladder ball. The pool was a great the kids went in and had lots of fun. I think my favorite part was making delicious coffee in the tent and quietly enjoying it on our screened in porch. We will definitely be back!"
