Immediately upon arrival I was told I had paid too much for the room as they offer a discount for locals. However, they would not refund me the difference (surely they could) ;( Room was not ready upon standard 3pm check-in time...even after arrival time had been confirmed days before. Mirrors had not been cleaned and were dripping with some substance. Asked for them to be cleaned, they told us they would be...but they never were. On the first night, we were locked out of our room in the cold and rain because the screen door broke. They had to break through the screen and pry it open to get into the room. Not what you expect from an expensive resort. Room was not serviced on third day (resort states rooms are cleaned every third day). After addressing this with the front office, room was again NOT serviced on the fourth day either (which they promised it would be!). Staff said they would find out why, but never contacted me to explain. Pretty gross having to use wet towels off the floor on the morning of our fifth day....and my 50th birthday morning. Staff rudely tried to turn this around on me saying we "must have had our do not disturb placard" on the door or that "we declined serviced", both of which we did not. One of the staff members, seeing my frustration and that of other guests, admitted they resort was understaffed and simply could not clean all the rooms as per the promised schedule. Would NEVER recommend this resort.
