It was close to the Central station and close to restaurants. Very convenient to get tour buses.

Surprisingly good given the rating and price. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, check-in was easy, and it was conveniently close to the train station.

Good value and close to train station

90s decor but clean and comfy and a big room for 3 of us. Let us leave baggage all day which was a real bonus. Very close to train station. Would use again.

Comfortable and spacious room really close to the station, nearny St Georg where there are loads of lovely restaurants and cafes. 15 min walk from the Rathaus so loads to see on the doorstep. The hotel was clean but we didn't see any staff whilst we were there, so had the same issue as others with check in, but fortunately we didn't have to wait too long for an answer on the phone when we called to check in at the door. We'd have preferred to see someone at reception simply because we had a broken light bulb that never got fixed, though we did send a few emails. Overall, good value for money but do be prepared for a little momentary anxiousness on arrival when no one answers the doorbell

It is a very very old hotel. It needs badly a renovation. On the other side it was clean. Very near to the train station.

The whole time we were there we never saw anyone, except the cleaning lady on the last day while we were leaving… when we checked in we had to talk ti someone in the intercom, that told us the combination to a key box that had our hotel entrance key and room key. It was a self-service hotel? Other than that the room was nice, clean, comfortable, but it was just strange to never see any employees…

Cheap for a reason

Fine if all you need is a cheap bed. Handy location for the Hauptbahnhof and city centre, but the bare minimum. No reception staff - you have to call a number to get a code for the lockbox at the door. Good luck with the dial code dialling from a non-German phone (+39 and leave out the first 0). Stairs only, no lift. No kettle/breakfast. Don't think I'll go back

extremely central hotel in quiet street.good value

I got a bad start by checkin at 3 pm, hoteldoor was closed and dark inside. I called a couple of numbers that were listed in the door, got answer and help with the second one. A woman came and locked me in, gave me the Key to the front door and room no 9 in fourth floor. understood hardly any english or Herman. But - From then everything was perfect to me. I will not comment the carpets though :-) Room with ok size, good bed, tv, Window to open, big fan/cooler that I did not try, clean bathroom, shower with warm water. everything functioned, and for the price I paid extremely good value. 5 minutes to Hamburg hbf in quiet street (if the neighbour across the street do not start to trim the hedge early in the morningen..) Recomnend it for guests not allergic to stained carpets

There is no one working at this hotel, there was no one when i arrived and no one when i left in the morning. When you arrive you need to call a local phone number, the issue is when you have an e-sim (data only) you can't make local calls, i had to chat online with hotels.com and have them contact the hotel as i waited in my car. Never understood the parking instructions so i left it in the street.

Close to downtown and convenient for walking. Check in was difficult and ultimately got assistance from another guest as the front desk advertised as being open until 2200hr but it was not.

There is no registration person on-site, you must call a number to retrieve acode to access your key. The room was up 2 flights, with no elevator. The room was spacious, but the issue was the black moldgrowi g in the bathroom. It wasin numerous places on the walls and that was certainly a concern. We stayed 1 night then departed, agai , no one at registration.

I was moved to another hotel, because of water leakage at the Steens Hotel. The new hotel was Hotell City inn, at Hammer deich. This hotel was missing breakfast possibilities, the room was almos at the parkin lot. missing toilett and shower at the room. Missing chair. Missing light for bedside reading. Missing TV. The room was marked "Crew changing room". The toilett/shower down the corridor: The sink was blocked. And the hotell was placed without any communication to the centre of Hamburg.

Disappointing

It is very close to Hauptbahnhof, however a bit old and outdated, does not qualify to be rated 3 star or even 2 star. There is no elevator, carpets are stained and loose, bathroom has dirty caulking that is peeling off. And Wi-Fi is unsecured and compromised, my iPhone warned that there may be a monitoring and recording device on network, impersonating websites and stealing data. I couldn’t access internet.

A very convenient small clean guesthouse right in the center, very close to the train station. Despite this, it is on a quiet and safe street, with all the infrastructure nearby, from cafes to a large supermarket.

Das einzige was für dieses Hotel spricht, ist die Lage. Aber Achtung, 3. Stock mit über 60 Stufen ohne Aufzug. Heizung funktioniert kaum, vielleicht war sie deshalb direkt ausgeschaltet, die Fernbedienung des Fernsehers ging nicht und es war nicht sauber. Die Handtücher hatten fremde Haare an sich, das Bettzeug war fleckig, vom Boden fangen wir gar nicht erst an. Ich hatte nicht viel erwartet, aber bei dem Preis zumindest Sauberkeit und nicht den Staub der letzten Jahre am Heizkörper oder Spinnweben im Bad.

Vi kom til hotellet men om aften da vi skulle tænde lyset var der kun to lamper og den ene lampe virkede ikke vi sagde det da vi så en i foyen og han lovede det ville blive fikset til dagen efter men desværre virkede den hellere ikke der hva jeg vil mene er virkelig dårlig stil når man gerne vil læse om aften og har betalt for et værelse desuden var der så lydt at man kunne høre alt hva danskerne i værelset snakkede om og det så ikke er fuldt i orden ville aldrig anbefale dette hotel til nogle
