Value for money.

Very clean rooms. Beds were fine and comfortable. Friendly staff. Easy check-in/out. Facilities outside rooms are kind of worn down. But not an issue at all. Great value for money if you are looking for a cheap hotel in the city center. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood.

Ok if you simply need a place to sleep

The hotel is very basic and the rooms are tired. We had the good room with a private wetroom in the corridor outside our room. However the door couldn't be locked from the inside. Needless to say I wasn't going to shower in there. The way in is up a steep staircase to the first floor (more stairs to our room) so getting luggage up and down was tricky. The room was tired and very, very noisy at night. The area is down at heel and doesn't feel fully safe. The room was clean but even so we only stayed one night and booked ourselves into another hotel for the remaining 2 nights of our stay in Hamburg. We do recommend the excellent Indian Singh hiding one the first floor a little way up the road.

There is no lift on ground floor so you need to carry your big luggage to 1st floor Staircase is quite dirty although the room itself is acceptable. One of the staff is very helpful whitle another one is not that helpful.

Good enough for me

Been there several times, it is fairly close to the railway station, so easy access for a late night arrival and it is NOT a hostel or dorm or a flea pit like most of the other hotels in the area Friendly guy that runs it. This place used to be a bit of a dive, but over recent years he has done the rooms up and they are of a good standard. Area it's self is a bit rough and quite scary but I have never been bothered and generally walk down the next street to access it

A lot noise from the road combined with a open window in warm room made it difficult to sleep. The hotel was very worn out, dirty hallways, lot of stuff lying arround. Would not come here again.

Please avoid

Clean towels and sheets, but that was pretty much the only thing that was good. The whole room smelled like someone had been smoking in in (though prohibited), mold in the shower roof, cracks in the ceiling, part of the bed lamp was loose, the shower hose was leaking from everywhere, and I could go on. I don’t think that any money was spent on fixing things the last couple of years.

When placing the booking it did not say there was no wc in the room. Had to get a key to a joined wc and shower. Please state that better, when(if) rooms do not have these facilities, it must be marked specifically.

Good value in vibrant and diverse Skt. Georg.

The hotel is a no nonsense hotel located in a vibrant street in the train station area. The area is nice with many migrant owned shops and businesses. A very good selection of restaurants, and if you go to the other part of St Georg, a block away, you are in the queere friendly street with a lot of other options. The street is populated day and night and feels safe even with the many sex workers, homeless, etc. The hotel does not have a restaurant, and we were staying in the part that is next door to the house where the reception is located. No problem at all. The beds were nice and clean, the bathroom was nice and clean. We had a very nice balcony we could use with view over the street. The room was cleaned and made up every day. The cleaning person was very nice and polite. The general condition of the hotel is a bit worn, but it was very good value for the price.

There is no elevator, and rooms up to the 4th floor.Approachable via winding, narrow stairs. with luggage it's a challenge and not safe from falling down. After I managed to climb to 4th floor, I figured no heat from wall heater nor from the one in the bathroom. Went back to the receptionist...mind you...below the first floor and complained. The guy said to wait 15 min. So I climbed back up again and waited for 30 min. Still ice cold. Climbing down again, asking for a different room with working heater. Now he cranked out a double room on 1st floor, but bathroom only available across the floor, not en Suite. So I agreed, and there was no discount offered for the hassle. On the end I was drenched in sweat from all the climbing up and down. I also noted there was no cup available for brushing teeth...not in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. All in all, I wont book this hotel again. Imo an affordable price doesn't justify inferior service or facility.
