Great location walking distance to everything downtown. Clean rooms & friendly staff. Unfortunately the sound travels easily between rooms so be prepared to hear your neighbours snoring.

High quality experience at this elegant small hotel in downtown Halifax, as always. It's in a series of historical buildings, well maintained and updated over the decades. I was pleased to find it as charming and peaceful as ever. Unbeatable location close to the waterfront. I will always be back.

Quaint, friendly service, and a great location. The Citadel, the harbour, Neptune Theatre, Halifax Public Library, restaurants...all are within walking distance, and the legendary Bearley's pub (live music nightly) is right around the corner. Housed in a heritage building (no elevator) the room had features we really appreciated, including thick towels, a small TV that did not overwhelm the decor, and an alarm clock. The friendly desk staff gave us recommendations for three restaurants, all of which were bang-on. We benefitted from excellent value for money during the shoulder season (late April).
