This was the most disappointing stay during our first visit to the east coast. Thankfully it was right at the start of our trip and every other stay was excellent. Shower stall in the entry was awful. Musty smell throught "suite" was overpowering. Blinds not able to stay pulled down when we opened all the windows to air the place out meant anyone could look in from the main street. Bedroom window faces the front entryway to the rest of the house so there could be no privacy with non working blinds. The toilet is so close to the wall that anyone that is a tad larger would have a hard time using it comfortably. Breakfast supplied was minimal and quite honestly, not even remotely acceptable. This was the only time we have ever left any place we have stayed early.

Thank you for your review. It is so difficult to have a mattress that would be perfectly comfortable to all my guests, over the last two years when a couple of guests remarked that the mattress was too firm, we changed it to a softer pillow- top mattress. I am at a loss to know what you mean by commenting that the bathroom could be closer? In any case thank you for staying with us. We hope you have had a very enjoyable vacation in our beautiful province.

This property covered just about everything for a welcoming stay, including fresh salad from the garden if you choose. Close to Halifax harbour front and a restaurant with in walking distance. We would definitely recommend this B&B.

This place has a beautiful view Checked in very friendly and helpful Walked down a bit of a hill to catch bus to waterfront but only needed 1 bus #90 Took about 20 minutes but fun to see some of city Owner supplied toast coffee and banana and yogurt which was good for breakfast Wifi excellent TV small but good sports stations Great value for price

This is a very clean welcoming suite. It has no t.v or blow dryer, but we were welcomed with homemade warm muffins. We will use it again.

The property was easy to find, and the host greeted us upon arrival and showed us around There was lots of space to unpack and relax It is listed as a B&B, but would appreciate a few more kitchen utensils to aid in warming up in the microwave for any foods we had purchased. As well it would’ve been nice to have a dish bucket to put dirty dishes in instead of just leaving them on the table. The host did come in every day and clean up our dishes. A light breakfast was provided for us each morning. Conveniently located to any area of town, we needed to go to a nice view of the harbor

Mel is very friendly and kind! He made sure we were all settled in and had everything we needed. The suite is cozy, with a little kitchen area for breakfasts and some comfy couches in the living space. It was a great place to stay while we were in town

This was the best alternative to a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. It was almost like staying at a friend's or family's house. Quiet, clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast. Owner Mel did everything right to make our stay pleasant. If I get to visit Halifax again, this is the first option I will look at.

This was a main floor suite of a bi-level. Basics were provided in the kitchen area; however there was no sink. A few continental food items were also provided. Washer & dryer was handy. Living room area is carpeted & has 2 sofas. One was fabric & quite stained. I wouldn't sit on it. No TV. I wasn't happy when a large spider came from under the sofa I was sitting on & scurried across the carpet near me - twice! Also, we killed a beetle on the carpet. The bedroom was okay; however, the bed was uncomfortable & husband says "bowed in." There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. Shower was tiny so didn't bother even using it. Upstairs people were very noisy at 7 am in the morning. Price for this suite was too high.

I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. It seems your expectations were for a 5 Star Deluxe hotel then maybe you should have stayed at a 5 star hotel with a 500 Hotel price rather than our 129 CLEAN , SPACIOUS, BRIGHT, AND COMFORTABLE GUEST HOUSE.

This was a pleasant surprise. My suite was spacious, clean and pretty well equipped. The service was welcoming and friendly, but respected privacy and was not obtrusive. This is not a hotel, so don't expect a mini-bar or a swimming pool. However, if you want a comfortable and quiet place in a good location, at a reasonable price, I'd recommend it.
