"Very pleasant stay. Beds in particular deserve a mention- very comfortable. Showers are fairly basic, but water is hot and plentiful. Good value for money. However, it's definitely not an 11 minute walk from Cathedral Cove! It’s more like 45 minutes, and expect lots of walking up and down hills. ..."

Lovely little town. Very white sand beach, quiet, clean, comfortable. If you are thinking to go to hot water beach, here is the best staying.

Lovely little town with a general dealer for bread and milk and any emergency things you may have forgotten. They also have decent spades for Hot Water Beach at really reasonable prices.

The parking arrangement for Cathedral cove is a scam at $15 (?) for 4 hours. Perhaps a consequence of NZ becoming overrun with tourists. Maybe time to ease back on pushing NZ as a destination until facilities have caught up.
