Our 1 Night and 2 days stay at the UK was phenomenal. The staff was active and helpful. I want to shout out for Santosh (HouseKeeping), Executive Chef during our stay, Bheru Singh (Office Manager), and other staff who have been interactive, watchful, and supportive during our stay. The delicacies and ambience was amazing. I would take Taj UKP during my second visit to Gwalior.
Great heritage property but use some modern amenities like central air conditioning as the rooms are huge and split ACs can’t cool it enough plus it’s cold during winters. The hotel structure is confusing as I couldn’t figure out where the swimming pool was despite asking for directions. I will still recommend the hotel as it’s a Taj property with Taj standard of service.
Excellent stay, very friendly staff and super food. But above all authentic palace which brings you back in time; great gateway to discover the heritage of Gwalior and chill out in the pool in the afternoon. Stay one night but wished I had booked one more. Extra point Taj gets for the croissants and jams at breakfast. Best in India.
One of the best hotels I have been in this trip. Quiet, really beautiful gardens, highly professional staff, good food. Only minus point: last night selected a meal for one person, supposedly a choice of two dishes, + rice and dessert of the day for a fixed price. At the end, they charged every dish extra.
We loved our stay. The staff was AMAZING. We ate many meals there and everything was good and safe to eat. We got two hour massages at the spa on site and it was wonderful! Everyone made us feel welcomed and checked often that everything was up to par. Also, we shopped at the cute store located on property and found some of the best scarves we have seen in India!
This is a very nice place.it was my third visit and it is like a home away from home for us.the staff are friendly, courteous and always eager to help.the rooms are spacious and comfortable.the spa is very relaxing too as is the swimming sessions I have with my kids.
I only stayed here 1 night but it was a very good experience. Comfortable, clean room with great amenities, including premium English-language satellite television :), beautifully-kept gardens & exquisite customer service.
The restaurant offered a good selection of food and the breakfast buffet was very nice. I particularly enjoyed the briyani Rakesh (their sous-chef) prepared.
If you're ever in Gwalior, the Usha Kiran Palace has to be your hotel of choice.
Overall a very good stay in Gwalior both on a social and business level.. We had planned to stay 3 nights but in fact stayed 4 nights. My schedule included a revisit to Gwalior if things did not pan out. As it turned out things were concluded with a day to spare and no return required. This enabled my wife and myself to take advantage to make a day trip to Agra to see The Taj Mahal as well as add a day to stay in the Punjab. The hotel is set in a large acreage with various picturesque gardens and settings. The view of the city, in particular the " Lal Kila " from the rooftop is a must. We were lucky to have been shown this by Balbeer.
The hotel is used for family functions and we were lucky to witness the preparation and then the engagement party of one of Gwaliors's leading citizens.
It was too early in the season to use the outside pool but I did take advantage of the gym. There are likely to be hiccups in any stay and the two we had were resolved in a pleasant manner with the front officer and the Duty Manager.
I would return to the Usha Kiran Palace if in M.P.
A bit highly rated. Needs extensive renovation. Not value for money. Noisy AC in room. No fresh air in room. No ventilation in bathroom. I ordered clear chicken soup & got a cloudy soup with chewy chicken. Except for this the food was very good. Breakfast was excellent. The Gym is outdated.
From the moment you get out of your vehicle, Usha Kiran Palace charms you. Someone appears out of nowhere with an umbrella to shade you from the fierce sun as you head towards reception. The fact that it is a bona fide palace combined with Taj's legendary services made this an exceptional stay. The staff were solicitous and polite and did everything possible to make my stay comfortable. Each time they saw me...even in the restaurant...they would greet me by name and chat with me about my day. A truly pleasant and memorable stay in this beautiful heritage hotel.
The hotel is quiet, and we awoke to parrots calling out in the trees, and little else. The staff is exceptional. The room has air conditioning for cooling, but heat in the winter time is a condition that needs to be addressed in a more serious manner than providing a small inadequate space heater. All else about the hotel is 5 star. Keep up the great work!!
One of the few hotels in India that truly knows what luxury is.
One of the few hotels in India that truly knows what luxury is. After spending a month in India, this was by far the nicest hotel that we stayed in. We stayed at several hotels that were twice the price and not nearly the same level of quality. Hotels in India can get expensive and claim to be luxury but still deliver only 3 or 4 star service. The service and amenities at Usha Kiran Palace Hotel was of 5 star quality. The room was huge and nicely done. The bedding was truly luxuries. The staff was helpful without being overbearing. The food, bar and other services were of high quality yet still reasonably priced compared to other hotels in this price range that we stayed at in other cities.
