"A lovely hotel - room was perfect. We’d definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family! The wine was a nice treat! Restaurant and breakfast was delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of nearby parking.
Location was great, once we found it. The hotel is tucked in behind another house - we got a little turned around upon arrival as we were tired after a long flight and the sign as you pull in doesn’t direct you as clearly as it could. You need to continue straight through to the end and turn left. We should have looked at the picture to clarify, but didn’t think to do that at the time. Thankfully a parent directing school traffic guided us appropriately as we were heading to the wrong house - she mentioned it happens a lot."
"The bed was lumpy ABS the sheet was barely in the mattress. So we finished making the bed properly. There was dried up drink splashed down the wall by the main window. The sink wouldn’t drain properly, which is really annoying when you’re brushing your teeth and have to wait for the rinsing water to drain. Makes me wonder why the cleaning staff wouldn’t have known this and reported it. Front end staff were pleasant. Didn’t interact with any other staff. I left a note the next morning. I know we could have reported the sink issue, but it was late and we had been travelling all night and most of the day. I wasn’t about to have to wait for a plumber or to change rooms. Of a dog hair on my socks from walking around in the room. Yuck."
"Generally, a good stay and if we were in St. John's again we would seriously consider staying at Sandman. Unfortunately, neither the pool or the gym were available. I had to ask for a rubber mat for the shower and was told mats were only provided for customers with bath tubs, which we did not have. That is a terrible policy as the shower was very slippery. As well, there needs to be a review about allowing pets to stay in rooms. We had a very yappy little obnoxious dog right next door, but he, (and his owner) were both given another room. There was also a very large and vicious looking dog, fortunately muzzled) walking the halls with its owner. I hate to think what could happen if that dog was somehow allowed to escape. Very good that a Denny's and Moxie's were both on site. Front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. Good parking accommodations."
"Room was great, bed was comfortable, staff were nice- especially the nigh shift who were always very friendly and helpful- which was great when your flight arrives after 1am. I would absolutely stay there again."
