Only booked at short notice as I decided to extend my trip and my previous hotel was very expensive for the extra night. I'm glad I did.
Lovely little place, plenty of little touches that the big chains forget such as biscuits and hot chocolate being readily available. Only met the owners briefly but they seemed very friendly and were flexible with me arriving late. Slept very well indeed, though made the mistake of leaving the window wide open as it was too warm the previous night, which made it very cold indeed in the morning. Very highly recommended and would definitely stay again.
Great B&B, clean, tidy, cozy. Warm welcome and lovely cooked breakfast.

Room was very small and hot, fan was provided but didn't help much. Bathroom had a very damp smell and the ceiling was mouldy above the shower due to lack of ventilation. Tv on the wall above the wardrobe made it hard to hear if your being respectful of the fact its up against the wall of the room next door, can't really watch it in bed as the bed had no head board. Room so small the bed is shoved up the wall making it even hotter to try and sleep. Room overall was clean, bathroom clean just a shame about the mould and smell. Hosts seemed friendly. There was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc and it was a nice touch having a fridge in the room with complimentary water.
This was a last minute booking & I’m sooooooo glad that I picked this property - clean & very comfortable indeed...would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
Due to pouring rain we cut short our stroll along the seafront and headed back to the car park, check in is 4pm so I called the Guest house to see if we could have an early check-in. The owner said yes our room was ready and we could check-in early. On arrival were were asked if would like breakfast in the morning for £5pp, 2 breakfasts were duly ordered. (Cooked breakfast menu given and you tick what you want) We were given two keys one for the front door and one for our (room 9) this was at the top of the house and after negotiating a narrow staircase with our luggage we opened the door to our room, the room was quite spacious, the shower room was clean but the shower was very small and the folding door couldn’t be fully opened without turning the shower on. (strange shower tap set up) the water pressure was poor in the shower. The room had a fridge in a cupboard with two complimentary bottles of water. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate and two packs of 3 biscuits adorned a tea tray with a kettle. Unfortunately it was impossible to fill the kettle from the extremely shallow basin so the teacups were used to fill the kettle. The room was very warm but a fan is supplied, even with it on full I opened the bathroom window and door and the bedroom window to try and cool the room. The bed was adequate. Breakfast was a choice of cereal and a full English, choice of tea or coffee and orange juice and toast with a choice of jams and marmalade. Well worth the £5. £60pn a wee bit dear?
Excellent and very clean. Quiet and peaceful within the Guest house. Lovely touches, and modern decor. A little noise outside but that was nothing to worry about really, which was very clean. Even a fan provided which was much appreciate as it was the hottest weekend of the year. Comfortable bed and great night sleep. Would stay again
What a fantastic stay we had, multiple rooms as group of friends attending an event. All rooms were spacious, super clean and a great size. Everything was provided, tea, coffee, biscuits, shampoo, iron, hairdryer ... so much more than we expected at such a great price. Hosts were fabulous, so welcoming & friendly and allowed us to check in early which was so very much appreciated. Really cant fault this hotel & hosts & have already booked to stay again. Having stayed at lots of hotels in the area over the years we are so glad we found the Elmfield. .
Very nice hotel right next to the beach and walking distance from all major attractions in the area.
We stayed in the smallest room which was adequate but would have been nice to have slightly more room.
The room was very clean with a basic TV, fridge wardrobe and double bed, on suite shower & toilet/sink.
Breakfast was very good with choice of full English, cereals & tea/coffee.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay

Elmfield B & B
Was good mediocre room ; get what you pay for. Nice enough breakfast. Clean.
A large, light room with good sized en-suite and a very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities included. Although I arrived very early I was welcomed immediately and was impressed with the homely feel of the room. Next morning I left before breakfast as I had an early start but I popped my head into the dining room and that too was clean and well presented. I would very happily stay at The Elmfield again.
Quite a good stay here in the room. Near to amenities. Beach is nice even though it was cold. The breakfast was not bad. Host were rather friendly.
The room was cosy and comfortable
Welcomed and shown to room, check in was easy. The room was a good size, in good condition and clean. The mini fridge was a nice touch too.
I can 100% recommend this B&B for location (for amenities), Appearance, Parking, service, cleanliness, the room itself AND price/value for money
Very comfortable, clean room which was well equipped. I appreciated having a small fridge in the room too. Great location. Sea view from my room too. Excellent value.
We were very disappointed with this accommodation. Our room was extremely small and stiflingly hot on arrival. We had to have the fan on non stop overnight to sleep. The small double bed was pushed up against the wall with nowhere to put anything on that side. The en suite was small with a tiny shower which had little water pressure. Damp marking on the ceiling of the room. There was one chair and the window only opened a short way. The advertised parking for 4 cars was a driveway to the side which meant that every car parked there was likely to be boxed in by others. Breakfast was extra although the Expedia site advertised it as included.

Nightmare on Elmfield
We paid up-front to stay here through Hotels.com for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. After a long 3 and a half hour journey, my fiancée, toddler and I arrived, where owner said that the booking only mentioned 2 adults and was adamant that he wouldn’t allow us to stay due to insurance reasons. We have stayed in many hotels in double rooms without issue, our little girl sleeps in a travel cot or shares our bed.
Now we were 130 miles from home with nowhere to stay, it was almost 7pm and we had a hungry toddler who also needed a nappy change. We asked to use the toilet but were told that they were only in the rooms, but seeing as we had already paid for our room for 3 nights this was outrageous. The owner’s response regarding our money was he wouldn’t give even a partial refund unless he was able to re-sell our room but they were unwilling to cancel our booking, meaning the room would not become available on accommodation listing websites. I’m sure 99% of their bookings come from online sources, so effectively there was next to no chance of us receiving any money back (which turned out to be the case).
During this time, we frantically searched the internet to try to find alternative accommodation, the owner made us feel very unwelcome, asking us to move our bags from the hallway and felt he generally had the attitude that it wasn’t his problem he had our money. Eventually he called and found us a room in a guest house nearby, although it was horrible we were desperate.
