"The Royal Oak has a wonderful location in a quiet village setting and visitors can expect a relaxing change of pace. The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground. "Great property in a lovely location. Well equipped with very comfy beds. "

"The house is located in a beautiful village just a short walk from village centre. The house is updated and spacious. The beds were comfy too - which to me is very important. We didn’t cook, we ate out, but the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glass, pans etc. Only thing we missed was a coffee machine as you can’t get a take out coffee before 9am. We will return again when we return to north east. Thanks for a great stay."
