Le Gîte des Champs, à Montbrun

On the edge of an UNESCO World Heritage Site, on the outskirts of the Cévennes National Park—France’s second-largest international dark sky reserve— come and stay in this unique house, built atop the arches of an old barn, whose distinctive appearance is a landmark of the Causse Méjean landscape. Ideally located near the Tarn Gorges, in the town of Montbrun, amidst vast wooded countryside, you can enjoy the charms of the great outdoors and the many attractions of this region. So, without even needing to take the car, you can explore hiking trails that start right at your doorstep, experience the exceptional tranquility of this place, and savour the rustic atmosphere that reigns here. Completely restored in 2022, the house offers a high level of comfort. You’ll enter through the 36 m² living room (library, TV, DVD player, board games; wood-burning stove available subject to prior approval from the owner). The mezzanine under the sloped ceiling features one double bed (140 x 190) and one single bed (90 x 190). A few steps lead from the living room to the upper level, where you’ll find a 45 m² living area (TV) with a fully equipped kitchenette, 1 bedroom with a double bed (140 x 190), one bedroom with a single bed (90 x 200), a bathroom (walk-in shower), and a separate toilet. In the basement, the laundry room is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, and steam ironing station. For stays of 7 nights or more: all linens are provided (household, bath, and bed). The beds will be made upon your arrival, and end-of-stay cleaning is included. For stays of 6 nights or fewer: linens are not provided, and cleaning is not included. You’ll find cleaning supplies, a coffee and tea kit (including coffee, tea, and filters), and some small welcome gifts! You can rent a baby kit and have your groceries picked up on the day of your arrival at the drive-through of a supermarket in Florac. Pets are not allowed.
