Gite le palefrenier - 6 pers - 10 min Etretat

  • Le Palefrenier, the most spacious of the Écuries du Vieux Plat. Housed in a former outbuilding of the former Hôtel du Vieux Plat in brick and flint typical of the Pays de Caux, this accommodation steeped in history once welcomed many famous travellers: Guy de Maupassant, Claude Monet, Félix Faure, as well as many artists, writers and political figures have stayed there, adding a unique charm to this cottage.

    You will stay in an authentic setting, combining history, calm and modern comfort, for a unique experience in Normandy. Up to 6 people can stay there, accessible through a small period iron gate, in a quiet courtyard.

    The accommodation has 3 bedrooms and 5 beds: 1 double bed, 4 single beds, as well as a cot and a high chair. You will enjoy a bright living room with TV and fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, Dolce Gusto coffee machine) and a bathroom with double sink. Coffee and dishwasher tablets are offered on arrival, toiletries provided. Pets are welcome.

    Beds are made on arrival, bed linen and towels are provided, end-of-stay cleaning is included, and a washing machine is available for longer stays.

    Located in the heart of the village, all amenities are within walking distance: bakery, butcher, pharmacy, restaurants and mini-market. A large central square regularly hosts a market of local products. Nearby, children's play areas (city stadium, football field) will delight families. Parking is easy with free parking 1 minute walk away. A bus stop in the village makes it easy to reach Étretat without a car, just 10 minutes from the famous cliffs — an ideal starting point to discover the Alabaster Coast and the landscapes of Normandy.

    Arrival is self-guided thanks to a key box (to the right of the door). The number of the accommodation is clearly visible to facilitate your arrival. You don't have to bring anything, everything is ready for your arrival!

    The two houses of the Écuries du Vieux Plat – Le Palefrenier and La Sellerie – can be rented together to accommodate larger groups. For any request or further information, do not hesitate to contact us.

Het huis ligt pal aan een doorgaande straat, veel verkeer dat je haast continu hoort. Niet echt comfortabele stoelen aan tafel. Keuken redelijk goed ingericht, alleen geen broodmes (verwacht je niet in Frankrijk - het land van stokbrood) en geen deksels bij de pannen. Schaar was kapot, maar had ik gelukkig ook zelf meegenomen. Wifi wachtwoord dat we via de app hadden doorgekregen klopte niet, duurde 2 dagen voordat eigenaar antwoordde. Tweepersoonsbed is 2x1.40, kuil in matras, maar nog redelijk stevig. Sommige eenpersoonsbedden zeer zacht matras. Geen tuin. Boodschappen kan je te voet doen.
