Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Goni?
The best area to stay in Goni is the central part of the village, particularly around the main square, Piazza Costituzione.

This area is the heart of Goni, offering a delightful blend of local life and convenience. You'll find the parish church of San Giacomo Apostolo, several traditional Sardinian restaurants, and small shops selling local produce and crafts. The narrow, winding streets radiating from the Piazza are a joy to explore on foot, revealing the village's historic stone architecture.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this area particularly appealing. The evenings are quiet and pleasant, great for enjoying a leisurely dinner at a local trattoria or a glass of regional wine on a terrace overlooking the square. The village offers a peaceful base to explore the surrounding natural beauty of the Sarcidano region.

For those interested in exploring the local culture and enjoying the village's amenities, staying near Piazza Costituzione provides easy access to everything Goni has to offer.
When is the best time to go to Goni?
The best time to visit Goni is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the area without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the countryside lush and inviting, superb for outdoor activities.

For couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape, these shoulder seasons are particularly appealing. You can enjoy quiet walks through the archaeological sites, relax by the coast, or savour meals at local eateries without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is more relaxed, allowing for a more intimate experience.

Families travelling with children will also find these times suitable. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and popular attractions are less crowded, making for a more enjoyable and less stressful trip.
