Perfect Family Getaway!
The cabin is so cozy! Loved the fireplace! Lots of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably! A memorable stay for our group! The owner was quick to respond to any of our questions!!

Christmas family ski vacation
Awesome location! Great access to the hill and to x country trails. Just our luck we had a severe deep freeze for our 3 days stay and the hill was closed :( so no skiing for our ski vacation). When we arrived the house was nice and clean and ready for us but we had to shovel the driveway, the front steps and the access to the hot tub...would have been nice if that had been done before our arrival.

Well equipped cabin with an amazing location.
Communication was excellent as Derek was very prompt and quick to reply to any questions or concerns that I had. This cabin was very well equipped with everything that you would need to enjoy your stay. The cabin was very clean and well taken care of. We will most definitely be back as my family and I had a great time staying here! A++

Wonderful Ski-in Ski-out Kicking Horse Cabin
Our 7-person adult group really enjoyed our stay at this Kicking Horse cabin. The large kitchen, dining table, and living area worked perfectly for both socializing and some meeting time. The cabin had lots of dishes, glasses and cutlery so no worries for making meals. We enjoyed the private hot tub every day after a great experience skiing the mountain. The fact that the ski-out path exits literally directly across from the cabin was amazing, you could easily take breaks or have lunch without much loss of time. It was appreciated how many towels were provided for guests, including some at the back door for hot tub, plus the complementary flip flops. Only heads-up would be that the picture shows lots of firewood, but once you arrive you find out in the binder information that wood is not provided. So bring your own wood bundles if you want to use the fireplace, that was our only disappointment. I would definitely rent this cabin again, likely brining my family with kids next time!

we where expecting fire wood as your photos of the property included firewood in pictures. it was not easy to find fire wood so it would have been nice to have some available!

Ski In / Ski Out Wonderful winter getaway!
We had a wonderful Xmas at Race Place. Lots of room in the house - clean and comfortable. We cooked every meal in the kitchen, including a turkey dinner -lots of room to cook and hang out while cooking! Hot tub was clean and really nice to have after a cold day skiing. It was also awesome to be able to use the fireplace. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. We had a bit of trouble with regulating the heat between main floor and basement. I messaged Derek and he got right back to me… once we figured out how to shut the vents in the basement we got it under control. Derek has always returned my inquiries right away - usually within the hour! The ski in / ski out for downhill/ cross country / snowshoeing was perfect - the location of Race Place is hard to beat if you like winter activities! We hope to stay again - it made for one of our best Christmases!

Great location
Loved the property and the location was great for ski in access. Only wished the hot tub was a little closer. Lots of extras in this property.

Good location depending...
The place is neat, very confortable and well furnished. We found out upon arriving from Europe that highway 1 was closed between Banff and Golden. What that meant for us was +1.5 hour (+3 if you count the way back) on all the day trips we had planned. Lake Louise for example no longer 1h away but 2.5 hrs. We tried to negotiate 2 days off our 9 day stay to be able to see Banff National Park but our host did not budge. So that was kind of disappointing as we did not do any of the visits we had planned in the end. We would have hoped for more empathy towards faraway travelers.

I’m so sorry you didn’t know about highway construction when you researched your trip, and that we couldn’t accommodate your request for a cancellation on such short notice.
