The best area to stay in Gobiendes is the village centre itself, particularly for those looking to experience the local Asturian way of life.

The village centre is quite compact, with its main road, AS-258, running through it. You'll find the historic Church of Santiago de Gobiendes, a pre-Romanesque gem, at its heart. The area is surrounded by green pastures and offers stunning views of the Sierra del Sueve mountains, providing a tranquil setting.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find the village centre ideal. It's superb for quiet strolls, enjoying the rural scenery, and savouring traditional Asturian cuisine in the local eateries. The pace of life here is slow, allowing for a truly unwinding experience.

For those interested in exploring the natural beauty of the region, staying in the village centre offers excellent access to hiking trails and routes through the Sueve mountain range.

The best time to visit Gobiendes is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During May and June, the Asturian countryside around Gobiendes is in full bloom, offering lush green landscapes and comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the coastline. It's a lovely time for couples who enjoy scenic walks and discovering local villages without the peak summer rush.

September and October also provide excellent conditions. The summer crowds have dispersed, but the weather remains mild and agreeable for exploring. This period is particularly good for those interested in local gastronomy, as it coincides with harvest season for many regional products.
