"We stayed at the larger gite which was charming and nicely decorated. Marie and Christian were great and helpful with suggestions re activities and restaurants. The gite is on a country road but traffic is light and we did not have an issue with noise. We will happily return again in the future."

The only blemish to the stay was to find a charge of €10 to use their car park had been added to our bill. According to Hotel.com listing, free parking was one of the main attractions. "The hotel was clean and comfortable. We arrived very late, around 2am and there was someone at the reception who didn't speak much english but we understood each other. I wasn't expecting much of the hotel because of the price but I think overal was very good. The only thing I saw as a downside is that our room was just above where people go to smoke so I had to smell the cigarrete smoke because the room was boiling as the air conditioning wasn't working. "Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding.
