"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day.
There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening. If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"We loved our stay here. The scenery is amazing to start but the cleanliness and staff of the hotel really made it great. This is a very quiet area of Italy but was a great place to start our trip before moving on the Florence. "

"Excellent service and hospitality in a wonderful old castle on top of the hill. The city square offered the best pizza-place and evening entertainment in the square with cover band playing ABBA-hits. We will definitely come back and visit again!"

"An excellent hotel big on service and nothing was ever too much trouble.
Really central to the small village centre and also a walk into Fornoli was doable.
Thank you for making our brief 3 night stay so enjoyable.
Love your pool - just amazing and the breakfast was superb, thank you again. "

"We didn’t stay as it was disgracefully dirty and the owners didn’t care. Told us we hadn’t paid for a room with a view when we complained about looking out at brick wall and scaffolding. Said we could move rooms for additional €75 per night but this room was as bad as the first one. Advertised spa didn’t exist, Refused to refund us "

Costola, private pool, stunning mountain views. Chef on request.
10/10 Excellent
"Unforgettable stay in a fabulous, historic setting. We were celebrating a special birthday with friends and couldn’t have found a more perfect, relaxed setting in which to enjoy the occasion. The apartments and grounds provide ample space for a large party with a backdrop of the Tuscan countryside and view of the Appian Alps. The hosts are kind and considerate, and the meal we had catered by the staff was lovely. Every day was an adventure walking in nature, by lakes, forests, swimming or hanging out around the pool."
New! Restored farmhouse, private pool, plunge pool, river! Walk pizzeria. Perfect!

"A wonderful property for 2 families to share. Beautiful setting, clean, well kept and plenty of space to explore. We will very likely be returning!! "
Cottage in old chestnut grove set well away from the road
10/10 Excellent
"The cottage is wonderful for getting away from it all. Comfy bed, wifi, brilliant host, a varied selection of wildlife and animals! The location is really off the beaten track, the last road to the parking is very narrow with tight bends. We walked down the ancient path to the medieval bridge a couple of times, steep but great views. Very peaceful place, thoroughly recommended."
