Family Getaway

Had a wonderful time at the farmhouse! Very picturesque with an authentic country feel. Close into town yet out far enough to enjoy the countryside!

Weekend retreat

The property was amazing with the pond , fire pit and plenty of yard for the kids to play. The fishing was great, caught plenty of fish. The house was large and full of rustic charm and history.

The house is charming and spacious. Lots of outdoor space for kids to play. Very convenient to Gettysburg and a short drive to Amish country.

Beautiful historic home

We stayed there to attend a local wedding. The house was beautiful and well maintained. The location was perfect. Nice and quiet, no close neighbors and it was easy to find where you were going. Check in/out was super easy.

Wonderful home, Great location

This was a perfect home to stay we were in Gettysburg for my Daughters wedding and the family stayed at the house. The location was so close to the venue and we got to visit the battlefields of Gettysburg. Loved that it had a fire pit and the kitchen was perfect for making meals there. Loved the old farm house feel with lots of upgrades.

Beautiful country setting

We came for a short weekend getaway with our daughters. I worked nicely for a central location for everyone. The property had plenty of room and activities for all to choose from. We took daily walks to the neighboring battle fields. And when we were ready to head into Gettysburg it was a quick 6 minute trip. And many of the other attractions were also only 5 to 20 minutes away. Great place to stay if you like that little bit of privacy, and appreciate the charm of older homes.

Fabulous for our family!

The house was charming and quirky and filled with character. We all fell in love with it! The bedrooms were spacious and the living space was great. We loved that the dining table had room for all 8 of us. The grounds were beautiful and the kids loved catching fish, roasting marshmallows and playing on the swing. The location was so convenient but away from the crowds. The host responded to our questions and needs promptly. We had a great stay!

Gettysburg family trip

We gifted my father in law a trip to Gettysburg for his 80th birthday. And being a Huge civil war buff this house was the perfect place to stay. Right on the battlefields. A pond for fishing (which everyone loved) and a farm style house that was homey and quiet. It was a close enough drive to everywhere we needed to go but far enough away. The host was extremely responsive when I had questions prior to the visit. Everything was great and the house was perfect! If we ever come back, this is definitely where we want to stay! Thank you so much!!

Nice place for the money

Spacious property with great outdoors and fire pit. Inside the house it is older, but in good condition and sufficient room. Kitchen is very basic. owners are very responsive to any reach out for information or concerns. Overall, a good place to say when visiting Gettysburg as the large outdoors and fire pit offer great relaxation. Cheers.

Delightful Gettysburg Stay

Our stay was very nice. The house was clean and the property was lovely. Walking around the pond was very peaceful. The beds were very comfy! The only issue we had was the lock on the door. It's a little tricky and lucky for us the owner was there when we were trying to lock it. They explained how the lock should work and we had no issues after. Otherwise, it was a wonderful and enjoyable stay. We have recommended the house to others and would be happy to stay there again.

Nice but...

The property has great potential. It is nice but it lacks the details to make it great. Things like washing the windows, exterminating the ants, and providing sufficient containers for the trash would greatly improve the experience! Also I would suggest that they add internet to the home... With all that said it is a wonderful home with a great location!

Quick family weekend getaway!

Our family of seven stayed Fri-Sat in Sept 2024 and enjoyed this property and grounds. It's conveniently located just minutes from many attractions in Gettysburg, many dining options, retail options, grocery, etc.....but you wouldn't know it, it's beautifully peaceful! My kids (age 9-19) enjoyed paddling around the pond and fishing (no catches, but they had fun). The pond does have duck weed, but our ponds at home do as well and know how difficult it can be to treat and maintain. It didn't impact our stay at all. The screened covered porch was were we hung out after a busy day of tours and sightseeing. Great for playing the games they have at the house and quiet reading. We would recommend this property if you appreciate some space to stretch out and some quiet after a busy day taking in historic Gettysburg.

Almost perfect

Overall, this was a lovely property. Our group consisted of five adults who were all looking forward to a relaxing week. Pros and cons: Pros - Check-in was great - house was ready for an early arrival and check-in was seamless (lockbox). House and decor were so charming! Absolutely loved the little details. Kitchen was great for a weeklong stay - plenty of dishes, cookware and utensils to ensure we could easily prepare meals. Location!!!! Between the trails on the property to explore and the proximity to Historic Gettysburg, this absolutely met our needs. Cons - Beds in two of the three rooms (blue and yellow) were just not comfortable. AC units could use updating - while they did the job, they were loud and one of them (blue room) required a set of pliers to turn the knob. The pond.....we were so looking forward to using the pond for fishing, paddleboating, and just relaxing by. Unfortunately, something hit this pond that caused excessive pond scum and countless dead fish that made it unusable. This was so disappointing as it was one of the main reasons we rented this property. Overall, we enjoyed the property and think the owners do a great job with it, however, would hesitate renting again unless pond was in a better state.

We loved the historic home and grounds, and convenience to the sites. We were enjoying the trivia cards and the very nice size dining table. The best part of our stay was our son-in-law finding his ancestor's memorial plaque among the monuments, & seeing his name there.

Everything was great! The vicinity to all of the Gettysburg monuments and downtown Gettysburg was wonderful, the beds are comfortable and check-out/in is very simple. There are plenty of places to go out for dinner and that.

The property was awesome! Beautiful old farmhouse steps from the battlefield, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Check-in was easy, and was granted a late check- out when requested. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a true Gettysburg experience!

Family time

I loved this charming farmhouse. The kids had a wonderful time despite not having Internet. loved the yard. my husband went out on the boat. It was a little hard to row with all the algae, but he said it was good exercise. I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome property!! Beautiful house! Could not have ask for anything more!! Great for civil war insuitust, like our family!! 4 grandkids age 11- 21, not once did they watch TV!! To busy out side exploring, swinging and rowboating! Everyone has a fantastic time, beautiful memories!! Awesome place and host!! Highly recommend!!
