Perfect Location: Historic Downtown Guesthouse

NO ORDINARY ADDRESS

Built in the 1840's and newly renovated, this 2-level, 4-bedroom Italianate-style townhome apartment reflects the Federal majesty of the mid-1800's, and the individualistic expressions of post-Civil war Gettysburg. Street-facing windows on the main level are accentuated with stained glass, creating a feel-good rainbow effect in the common area parlor and dining room.

Bedrooms on the first and second level pay tribute to the owners' family heritage. Take your pick from the Charles, Chastang, Earley or Hughes bedrooms. Like the people whose names they bear, each room has its own personality and ambiance.
A major upgrade is the amazing chandelier-adorned spa bath that lets you know this is no ordinary Gettysburg address... This is The LaVerne Guesthouse.

Located one-half block from Lincoln Square and three doors down from the historic Wills House, The LaVerne is within walking distance to dining, antiquing, shopping, and the theater. This guesthouse is appointed with all the basics you need to feel at home, including kitchenware, towels, linens and paper products.

The property will be cleaned and ready for your arrival; however, there is no daily housekeeping service. Therefore, we respectfully request that you maintain the home in a neat and orderly fashion, wash any dishes used in the kitchen and spot clean when necessary.

This is our second home in Gettysburg. We welcome only guests who are willing to respect our property as if it is their own. This is why we will rent only to families or couples. Please do not inquire if you intend to use our home as a “party pad.” We have a property manager who will respond immediately if you ever need assistance during your stay.

Your stay at The LaVerne Guesthouse puts you in the heart of everything Gettysburg is known for. Whether it's sightseeing, nightlife, performing or cultural arts, cinema, vintage or contemporary shopping, fine dining or artsy coffee houses...You can walk there from here!

Leave your car in your private parking space and take a walking tour of the pre and post-Civil War era architectural styles in the Gettysburg Historic District. And don't forget to check the schedule for nightly performances or frequent art shows right in the neighborhood. Or, catch the bus for a short ride to the battlefields and visit the Civil War Museum.

If you do decide to take a drive, visit the nearby Gettysburg Outlet Stores...or tour one of the close-by wineries. Whatever your itinerary, your stay will be in the perfect location. The LaVerne Guesthouse... a home of historic distinction.

Our first time in Gettysburg and we wanted to be in a perfect location and this was it for sure. We walked to shops and restaurants and explored everything we could. If we had to drive, it was easy to get in and out of the parking lot. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nicely decorated, comfy beds. You can’t beat the location. Walk out into the street and find great restaurants and cute shops. Close to the historic battlefields and museums.

Wonderful Stay!

The Laverne House never disappoints! This was our third time staying here, and it is just as wonderful as the first time. Everything is clean and comfortable, the owners are very nice and easy to get in touch with, there are so many things to do within walking distance, and they added a Keurig since the last time we stayed! When we end up back on Gettysburg, we will definitely try to stay here again!

Great experience

We went to visit the battlefield for my son’s 16th bday with our family and my in-laws. The place is lovely and clean and centrally located. It was the perfect place to access the battlefield, the cool restaurants and walks on Gettysburg campus. Absolutely would stay there again

Great Place in Gettysburg

This was our third time staying at the LaVerne Guest house. Every time check in is easy and the house is perfectly clean and nicely decorated. The location is the best, just steps from the center of town. It’s the perfect place for a family with a bunch of kids that can't fit into less than 3 hotel rooms.

Right in the Middle of Where You Want to Be

Gettysburg is a charming little town with a deep respect for history. We met our adult children here for the weekend. The dining and sitting areas were terrific for visiting. The kitchen is compact but we did cook one dinner and two breakfasts there. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and a short car ride to the Battlefield Museum.
