"I liked the location of the property. Parking was convenient and the lot was guarded. The lighting on the property and around the property was excellent. The staff was professional and attentive. The room was large and beds were comfortable. The pool was not available. There was no continental breakfast or donuts. There was a lot of noise after midnight until about five a.m."

"Loved the location and the cleanliness of the property. Would have given 5 stars if the grill and patio furniture out back were usable...it's a great back yard and those updates will help utilize this wonderful space. Highly recommend"

"Clean with great location in the heart of the hill. Ten minutes to botanical gardens. No grass on patio outside but that was no big deal to us. Parking could be tricking but wait one or two moments and something opens up. Wonderful little home that gives that great STL vibe. Will stay again if we get the chance. "

"We came down to stl for my daughter’s graduation Friday so are stay was from Friday-Sunday. We arrived that night around 11-11:30pm. When we made it to the building the first two stairs was broken, we get inside the the apartment stains on the walls one of the couches was filthy, cracks in the walls the WiFi didn’t work at all like they said it would the blinds in every rooms was raggedy like tore up and they was raised up couldn’t raised them down I complained immediately and they really acted surprised talking about sorry for the inconvenience we’re gonna get right on it with my team they never did. The way the shower was set up. Water came on the floor. The next morning my son is trying to take a shower. Water was cold. It was never no more hot water again in our stay and the only thing they can say is we can check out at 11 and they would give money back for Saturday at this point it was too late because it was nothing else to rent at the last minute. I’m very disappointed this place should never be listed on no sites especially for what we paid for lesson learned never again "

"I waited a week to be sure this is objective and unemotional. Usually I post constructive suggestions for improvement in a private message to the host. In this case, I’m posting a public negative rating to protect the integrity of the VRBO listing system.Property description inaccurate. Good points:Near Botanical Gardens.Quirky fox theme.Price.BUT far outweighed by the bad:Access from street is hard. Steps up, wobbly handrail, more steps down. Very unkempt entry. Dirty steps. Door needs paint. Concrete uneven, loose plaster. Steps down next to big mess! No light switch inside entry door; flashlight needed to find switch for other room. Almost tripped where step down just before finding switch.Misleading description: Should say HALF kitchen. Shocked no stove or toaster; tiny fridge. Thick frost ate up space. Water dripping into fridge. In listing photo, mistook fridge for dishwasher. Listing: “air conditioned.” Unable to find thermostat; contacted host. Replied promptly: a/c controls upstairs in other unit. Contact host; he’ll adjust temp! (not even in property’s guest handbook) First night cold; next day asked for raise of 2 degrees. Reply well after in bed—unable to get the remote to work—sorry.Housekeeping poor. Large cockroach in shower. Closet floor dirty. Vacant space next to shower full of hair dust. Lighted make-up mirror dusty.No tissue, NO SPARE TOILET PAPER! Had to ration the one roll. Unforgivable!Very memorable, but never going back!"

Hill Retreat: Rustic Charm w/ Balcony

"The place is very nice and I love the setup with two balconies! The location is perfect! The Hill area has some great resuarants, bakeries, and coffee shops. Great neighborhood for a stroll and a great balcony to watch it all happen when you dont want to stroll. Close to downtown and perfect for our visit! My only thing is the lack of parking depending on the time of day. The details for the VRBO state parking available - 1 narrow space, but this is not accurate. The only parking is on the street, so depending on day and time, this can be a huge ordeal. Other than that, we love the fact that the place offered a shared green space that is gated for our dogs, which was perfect! We did looooove the location and atmosphere, just really needed that parking spot upon arrival and departure, but were able to move and make it all work. Just a little but of an inconvenience when you got dogs...still 5-stars and a great place!"
