Pleasant stay

House was clean, spacious and nicely furnished. The view of the ocean from the balcony was very relaxing. The walk to the beach was only a couple of minutes away.

Purple Pelican Praises!

Our family of 10 (age range from 15-76) had a wonderful stay at the Purple Pelican! It was even better than the online pictures-the landscaping is so nice and well cared for, the exterior of the home is impressive and the interior decor is so tastefully done with a classy beach theme. The home was extremely clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable and it was so nice having a bathroom for every bedroom! The owners provided everything we needed to take to the beach including toys, chairs, a wagon and a canopy. The ocean views from the decks were great! We have stayed at many beach homes in Galveston but we all agreed that the Purple Pelican was exceptional!!

This house is absolutely beautiful. The amenities are great; the decor is lovely and the proximity & views of the beach are fantastic.The outdoor dining areas and balcony patios are relaxing, breezy, with comfortable furniture. We will definitely return to the Purple Pelican.

Very nice condo

This unit was bright, spacious and nicely furnished. From the rear decks is a beautiful view of the ocean. The beach is only a very short walk away. I would definitely like to stay there again next year.

Another Wonderful Stay!

This was our second time staying at the Purple Pelican and it was great. Plenty of time in the sun at the very close beach. The owners were kind and quick to respond. The house was neat and tidy. We’re already planning to come back next summer!

Beautiful home

There was plenty of room for our entire family. Each bedroom had a bathroom; especially great since we were staying at the beach. The beds and furnishings were excellent. The layout afforded a lot of privacy. We had everything we needed. Very relaxing.

Great house for family vacation!

House was super clean. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Huge plus when you have kids. Kids room was spacious enough with 4 beds. You can see the gulf from the living room!

Beach Paradise

Second year staying the week in this house and it has it all. Short walk from the beach and the convenience of the shower downstairs. All of the beach amenities including a new canopy! Brand new bbq grill! The beds are so comfortable. The owners are so helpful and respond quickly. Would love to rent this house again!

the most beautiful short term rental ever!

This home is absolutely the best short termrental, by far, that we have ever rented. If I could have given it 10 stars, i would have. Every roomincluded a tv and the full stocked kitchen was very impressive with its beautiful pots & pans! The home was immaculate upon arrival & check-in was super easy. We enjoyed sunset views as well as beach views from the home. The balconies, porch swing & a small swing downstairs were such a treat. The owners supplied us with everything from multiple coffee machines including the coffee/creamer, makeup remover, toothpaste, more than enough beach towels, kitchen utensils, pots and pans and even a diffuser blow dryer! it took me 4 minutes to walk to the private beach and we all felt very safe! We did not want to leave as every moment that passed we fell more in love with this beautiful home! We will be back!

Beach Fun with Family

As always, a fantastic time was had by the entire family! Lots of room for us to have our own space. Grandchildren enjoyed all the toys & games. Very helpful to have tent, beach toys, & wagons to transport them. Beach is close by. Grill came in handy for grilling. Looking forward to be back next year!

Perfect R&R

The purple Pelican is a beautiful home in BSV. We enjoyed a relaxing time in this warm, inviting and well appointed home which is a short walk to the beach. Any issues (we had none) are quickly taken care of by the friendly and attentive owners. This home is exactly as it appears on VRBO ( we all know this is not always the case ) so hats off to the owners!

Girls Weekend

6 adult women stayed from a Thurs - Sun. Everything is as listed. We had plenty of room for sleeping and bathrooms, etc. This is a beautiful house. Pantry was stocked with all of the essentials. Mosquito’s were terrible outside but the owner left bug spray on the porches to be used. We wished they had a sidewalk from the house to the beach in the grassy area between the different buildings. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Easter at the Beach!

My parents (from WI) have a condo at Holiday Inn Beach Vacations so my sister and her family flew in from WI and we all met at the beach! The Purple Pelican was within walking distance of the condo and the beach! The 6 cousins LOVED all the beach amenities, especially the boogie boards. The parents LOVED the beach chairs and the wagon to haul everything. Plenty of space to spread out if you need some time to refresh away from family members. Bathrooms for every room were a huge bonus! Great views of the beach from several decks around the home for morning coffee. The Purple Pelican was the perfect home base for my extended family’s first Texas Easter.

Absolutely Awesome!!

The Purple Pelican is an Awesome beach house!! The bedrooms are comfortable, cozy & decorated impeccably (so is the rest of the house)! The kitchen is well designed & has Everything that one could need (including griddle, wine bottle opener, plastic storage containers, etc). There’s also great beach stuff on site (sturdy wagon, chairs, mini plastic shovel & toys for kids to use while playing in the sand, large beach towels). The house is just a quick & pleasant walk over to the beach and one can view the Gulf from the comfort of the back porch. This was our 1st stay here, but we plan to return again. It’s truly a HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!

Girls' getaway

We found this property to be absolutely gorgeous!!! It is incredibly well appointed from an abundance of silverware, plates, cups and mugs, to labeled light switches, to spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely touches like individual Keurigs in some bedrooms with complimentary pods and bottled water. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch in the mornings and watching the sun rise over the ocean. Even though the property is not ocean front we were able to see and hear the ocean just fine. It is also a quick walk to get to the beach AND it is a short walk along the beach to the Tipsy Turtle should one desire to go there. Highly recommend this property!!

Third Visit and Won't Be the Last

This was our third time to stay at the Purple Pelican and we will continue to come back time and time again. Our kids, ages 5 and 8 absolutely love it, as do we. The house is always incredibly clean and well stocked. It's so nice not to have to worry about packing towels, chairs, beach toys, etc. We also love the layout where the kids room is across from the master, separate but close if needed. My parents come with us and have their own king size room downstairs. My 5 year old stated this time "This is starting to feel like home" Ha ha ha. We wish son! The property owners are also a dream to work with and respond quickly. The proximity to the beach is another bonus and I love that at this current stretch of beach there is no driving allowed so you don't have to worry about cars and the surf. The beach is clean and well maintained. The neighborhood itself is beautiful and quiet. We enjoy just walking around and looking at the stunning beach houses. This April trip has quickly become one of our favorite family traditions. It's truly a time where we can rest, relax and take some time to invest in what really matters...spending time with our loved ones. If you are interested in the same, don't hesitate and book the Purple Pelican. You won't regret it.

3rd Time as Charming as the 1st and 2nd!

Such caring hosts keeping us updated throughout the event of Hurricane Beryl before our stay. They reached out and were willing to offer a full refund (through insurance) if we decided to cancel our stay. The power was restored to the house either the night before or the morning of our checkin. My family and I were making contingencies as to if we could delay the trip until the power returned or just cancel. Gladly we were able to make the trip. There was no internet in the house but, honestly I feel that was a relief. We all needed to unplug a little. The house was in all working order when we arrived. Although, right after a hurricane, mosquitoes were a problem. But not inside the house. It did deter us from getting to use the outdoor grill. There was an issue with the dryer, and the owners called out the repair man for the next day and fixed the problem. The WiFi was restored in time for our final day, so that was nice being able to watch TV but, we still spent most of our time enjoying the breeze on the balconies. This was our 3rd time staying at “The Purple Pelican” and it was as charming as all previous times. Clean and pleasant. This was wonderful! Also; given that this was after a hurricane and the power situation was uncertain, the island was basically empty compared to how it would normally be this time of year. So, we really didn’t have any waiting for anything and the beach was nearly all to ourselves.

The house was fabulous and well equipped. A second toaster with a family of 7 would have been greatly appreciated. The views were spectacular and the short walk to the beach was great. So nice to have the space to stretch out and be comfortable for the whole family. If we are every back in the Galveston beach area, i would rent this place again in a heartbeat.
