Beach stay
Perfect beach stay with our small family. Good location and easy beach access. Showers had great water pressure and got nice and hot which was perfect after a cold day at the beach! Would have been nice if the home had additional cooking supplies like oil and salt and pepper but other than that it was great!

Fantastic place for getaway!
We'd come back to this house in a heartbeat. Great location just a short walk to the beach, and with a great view of the beach from the porch. Did not mind the lack of a dining room table, as the kitchen island is much larger than it appears in the photos (or at least than it looked to us) and the common room and master bedroom are more spacious than we anticipated. The porch really was fantastic, with several seating options. Kitchen is well-stocked, and the three bedrooms give several good sleeping options for families (including teens who need a little space. And we received an immediate response and information when the water went out for a short while (the city was working on the line, nothing the owners or management could have helped). A great place to stay and a great experience!

October Getaway
Check-in had a few snags, house hadn't been fully dusted, a couple of floor boards are popping up a bit and could hurt someone's toe. Otherwise; it was what we paid for - a nice, roomy house very close to the beach with good amenities and a killer view. We appreciated the lack of glitz and shops everywhere like in town, as well as no highway to cross for beach access; the West End and it's laid-back vibe were exactly what we needed. Would stay there again but VRBO and the big property companies are starting to lose business with all the added, inflated fees and costs. I've noticed that some of the smaller owners are going back to listing their units personally again; maybe the big boys will adjust accordingly...

Old House that needs some repairs.
The location was good. Now onto the bad. Didn’t get our check in code on time but customer service fixed that once we called. Everything just seemed like it could use a good wipe down. The flooring in the living room and kitchen are peeling up and a tripping hazard. The porch has numerous nails sticking up and some of the railing is coming apart. That’s a huge thing if you’ve got small children. The A/C either works too well or not enough. Set it for 77 and two rooms were warm while the master bedroom could have been used to safely store raw meat. Light could be seen through the gap under the door and past the window a/c units. Not a big deal until the mosquitoes found those holes. And the power meter box looks so rusted out that I’m concerned that it could be a fire hazard.

Great beach access, needs updates
Overall we had a good experience staying here. The nearness to the beach was great for our small kids and made it easy to go back and forth between the beach and the house. Loved that it was pet friendly, too. Property manager was easy to communicate with, which was nice. The pictures are a little deceiving though. They had made just enough very basic upgrades to take “modern looking” photos but the linoleum floor was coming up in multiple spots, and the bathroom feels very outdated. Shower is TINY with no water pressure. We did miss having a kitchen table. It was fine for a 2-night stay, but I would probably choose another property in the future.

REVIEW Notes: Great location and view, so close to the beach. The place looks just like the pictures, really cute decor. Loved all the distressed furniture, very beachy. Perfect for taking our respite from caregiving to our young adult son in a vegetative state. Thanks to the well-equipped kitchen, we were able to cook some good meals. There is no pantry, however, or place to store everything we brought, and we had to bring everything. The one bathroom is not a full bath, only a tiny shower. Outlets in bathroom don't work, and that's the only mirror in the house! A full-length mirror would be helpful. Because it rained the whole week we were there in October, it was cold, and we needed extra blankets. There's only one on each bed. Good thing we didn't use all the beds. We were able to borrow from them. The TV is nice and big, but it was in SPANISH. We had to use Google's translator to find the language (idioma) settings. And, using the provided HDMI, it wouldn't play anything from our laptop. And lastly, but certainly not least, this place needs a better pest control service! We saw way too many Roaches! The Check-in Instructions state that "All of our properties receive routine pest control treatments." We'd love to come back when you get one that works.

Close to the beach and resturants
The house was close to the beach and a short drive into town to restaurants. It was very hot when we visited, the owner has added a few window AC's to help keep up with the house unit. A few updates would probably really help with the AC issue, some added weather stripping around the door to help it close correctly. We did notice some general maintenance was needed around the house, I know it's on the ocean but the electrical panel was all rusted out, it could be a hazard to young kids.

FIX A/C. Never worked well. Notified property manager. ‘Will have it looked at’ was response after claiming it must be us leaving the doors and windows open. Temp set never got actual temp to within 5 degrees. Temp in house never(even at night) got 10degrees less than outside temp. ( no doors and windows open at all at night).

Birthday getaway
It was a relaxing getaway for my sisters birthday. And mom was recovering from a year long battle with cancer. This was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sun & beach. The house was cozy and just enough room for us. Only drawback was sharing 1 bathroom with 3 women. But it was fine. Thank you for a great memory.

Great potential but needs some upkeep
Several issues were encountered during our stay - dirty roaches in/around the bar. No dining table, which was odd. Minimal amenities. Bring your own everything - including kitchen towels and soap and cabinet cleaner. One of the wooden bunk bed frames completely shattered when sat on. The front door would not latch. We had to bring in a chair from outside to block it at night. Not a comfortable thing. On a positive, Russell, the property contact, was very responsive to our concerns about the bugs and the door. He did try to relocate us to a different property but it was not on the beach.

Location was great and less than 5 minute walk to the beach. The front patio can easily see the beach with only a single row of homes blocking the view. Water pressure in shower was horrible but everything else was great. Will probably book again for a quick getaway

Nice and cozy house with good access to beach. Good location for the cost. All amenities you could need. Good communication with host company. Won't dock stars for it, but deck has seen better days and is not far from needing a rework. Overall pleasant experience, would recommend for couples or small groups.

Jamaica Beach 4th of July
We had adults, teens and a toddler stay at the beach house. All enjoyed themselves alot. The short walk to the beach was very convenient. The grille came in handy and it cooled down enough outside at night to eat dinner on the deck which was awesome. I would definitely rent the beach house again and can't wait to come back.

Great Fast Get Away
I was looking to find an overnight stay on short notice. This did the trick. My kids and I came down for the night. The house is on the 2nd row with very close walking distance to the sand. You are off of the main road on the corner near an intersection. There is also a gas station across the street which is convenient. Downfall is across the street maybe a block down a police officer was hidden there and constitantly pulling people over. The first couple of times no big deal, but when you are sleeping not so good. Could have been a one night deal, but I believe it was a firestation he would park in the dark at. Also, on the upper deck make sure to have on your flip flops because there are some nails that petrude upwards (some look rusty). Would stay again if just for one night, and undisturbed sleep was not that important.

We really enjoyed our time at this house! It was the perfect size for our family of 6 (2 adults/4 young children). There is only one bathroom and no bathtub, so I think if we were staying for a longer period of time or with another family, we might consider a different house. But for a 3 night getaway it was perfect! It was very clean, decorated nicely, and just one street over to a day at the beach. I also loved how much natural light came through during the day. A few things to note: -I’d be careful walking outside barefoot! The porch is a little warped and there are some nails sticking out. It didn’t feel unsafe, but I think it’s something to be aware of (especially with young children). -WiFi didn’t work at all for us. The modem lit up like everything was fine, but nothing would connect. Hopefully it’s not a common issue, but it is something to think about if you absolutely need internet while on vacay. -the beds are all comfortable, but the king bed seemed to slope towards the center. I would say that was the most uncomfortable mattress of all the mattresses in the house! -I loved that the house provided laundry detergent to wash our clothes before returning home. -communication with the property manager was wonderful! We had an issue getting our key at first, and the above mentioned issue with internet…and every time I messaged them they were quick to respond and very polite. Overall it was a great house for a quick beach getaway!

Terrible property. Terrible experience with property management.
Upon arrival the checkin was rough, codes were sent late and did not work, I had to call to get correct lockbox codes. I immediately noticed that there was only one bathroom. The property was inaccurately listed as a 3/2. When I called the management company Russell was very rude and defensive stating that the second bathroom was an outdoor shower (uncovered and completely exposed to public). When I went to the shower there was no water supply to it at all. 6 people with one bathroom was an awful experience. The management company has refused to take any responsibility or action for misrepresenting the property. Besides the inaccurate listing, the property was in rough shape, lots of chipped paint, damaged baseboards, buckled floors, water stains, pet damage, doors that don’t lock/latch. Some of the furniture was falling apart mainly a bunk bed that several support beams were missing which is a safety hazard. The freezer did not freeze due to a missing ice flap, the vent hood over stove didn’t work. In addition there was no pantry to store food. I feel like this property was overpriced for what you got. The only positive is the close proximity to the beach. I would never come back to this property and will avoid stay beach box company and properties due to the rudeness of Russell the person I dealt with during my stay.

Spotless cottage, newish appliances in a big kitchen space. Big deck facing the beach with lots of chairs. This is located toward the east end of Jamaica Beach which is also kept very clean.

Great House for a Short Stay
Booked a last minute trip for my Wife's birthday with a few friends. House was spotless with all the amenities you would expect. Though only one bathroom, had no problems sharing amongst six of us. The real attraction is the proximity to the beach and town. Easy in and easy out of the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a short getaway.
