Life on the canal.
Overall, it was good. There were some items that were not available for use. Those items were things present in out kitchen. You can't provide everything that is needed, that's understood. Everything we needed worked and we were satisfied with the house, generally speaking. Look to stay in Galveston, TX again this year when we come back. Thanks for the help, house contact. The Lavoi's

Wonderful family get away

Great location for a laid back family vacation!
We really enjoyed our stay this week! We did some fishing and crabbing off the back deck, visited the nearby beach, and enjoyed the views. We did travel into town a few times (20-30 min drive depending on where you are going). It was really nice to be able to come back to nice cool house away from all the busyness of downtown Galveston!

We had a great time! I would like to add that there is no fishing equipment. We had read about the awesome night fishing but wasn't able to take advantage of the activity due to no equipment. Also very little beach toys etc. We flew so didn't have access to bring these things. One of the fans doesn't change speeds and moved very little air. Could use some updates in home but other than that it was a great time. House was clean. It was further out from town than I thought it would be but we made the best of it! If you are looking for the beach this is the place! Much nicer beach than the one in town! Pool was also super awesome! Host is fantastic!!

Fun family vacation getaway!
This beach house worked perfectly for our big yearly family vacation! Amazing spot for fishing, we caught tons of fish every night. Great location to beach access. Barbara was extremely helpful and quick to respond. We would stay here again :)

Great getaway!
We had a great time while staying at this property. Location is beautiful. I wasn't sure what I'd think about being on the canal, but it was super cool and gave us access to water right outside our door. The location is not super close to most restaurants, but it's away from the crowds and craziness closer to Pleasure Pier.

This place is amazing! Super nice, super clean, very well updated with all the amenities.. It's very quiet and peaceful and we had a blast catching fish with the kids and grandkids. Definitely recommend this place!

The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Maybe a bit too quiet for our loud children but overall, it was a nice neighborhood and location to relax and get some quiet time. The house being situated on the canal is an added bonus, it's so beautiful in the mornings to see the sun glistening on the water. The house is about a 30 minute drive away from the Galveston Boardwalk, Wal-Mart, oher restaurants, and the main area for higher traffic and activities. The house is well kept and clean. There was enough room for everyone to have their space and have a good night's rest. The place is equipped with everything you need to cook and eat, to shower and do laundry, etc. It is a home away from home. I would stay here again if I come back to the area.

We decided to rent this house for spring break. house was clean upon arrival. However the outside exterior could use some work.(my 5 year old stated it looked creepy due to the side of the house missing wood/blue plastic). everything else was nice inside is as pictured.the picture does no justice it bigger in the inside. the host was very friendly and helpful. my family and i enjoyed our stay.

The weather was not on our side for out stay However there was plenty of space inside to play games with the kids. We did some fishing and even though it was slow biting everyone had fun. There were ample dishes for a large family and that was a wonderful relief. We had a very nice vacation and look forward to going back

Great Labor Day Weekend
We had a great time at this beach house. The location is perfect, the home was well equipped, and has the perfect amount of space. We enjoyed fishing and crabbing off the dock, we caught enough crabs for a boil! We rented a golf cart while there and the location was just perfect to ride to the beach, pool, marina, store, everything! The host was very responsive and helpful before, during and after! Would definitely stay here again!

Just a miscommunication
We booked the property before the remodel, which is beautiful BTW. It just didn't suit our particular group. Barbara was very accommodating and made things right. With a different group I'm sure we would've been more comfortable.

Great place to reunite with family and friends
For over a year we kept our distance and wore our mask. Now that we are all fully vaccinated, it was time to enjoy each others company. This house was perfect for catching up. Close to the beach to swim and fish. (We caught a black tip shark!) When the sun was too hot, we gathered under the deck and went crabbing. Close by are other spots to crab and even a community boat ramp and fishing pier. The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. If you wanted to nit pick you could find a few flaws, but then again, if you want to be a Karen, just stay home. This house is in a quiet neighborhood, with friendly neighbors. We will return.

Great home and location!
My family and I stayed at this cozy home for four nights and we enjoyed every second of it! We loved the open floor plan and deck views! There’s easy access to the beach just a very short drive away. My husband enjoyed nighttime fishing since the house has an underwater green light in front of the dock. Barbara was a pleasure to work with and super easy to get a hold of. We will definitely be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay at this rental. It was a little out dated, But clean and cozy. AC was a breath of fresh during these August months. It was great knowing that the house was good a cold after a long day out in the summer heat. Management was also great, answered questions that needed answering in a very timely manor without fail. response very quick and efficient. We fished through out the day and night under light's catching a great variety of fish. The beach was great as well just 5 minutes across from the subdivision.

Beautiful home, Great location
Our family had a 5 day stay at the home. It rain off and on but we still enjoyed ourselves. We fished on the top deck with the kids and it started to rain but we were able to go downstairs and continue the fishing and fun. The green light in the water was out the first couple of days but when we called the property manager was right on it and responded right away, come to find out the weather had been bad before we came and the breaker had switched off for the outside 😅. We will definitely return.

This house is very well located on the bay side, with access to the gulf side and beaches. Lights in the canal attract lots of trout. If yiu csn get live shrimp, you will have a lit if action. Great value location

We had a great time! Easy check in process and the ac was fantastic! We didn't even turn it down all the way as it was sooo cold. The ice maker in the fridge was fantastic and having the extra mini fridge was great for drink storage so we could keep all the food in the fridge. The deck was great for fishing (just bring extra lights for the cleaning station if you plan to fish). This neighborhood was very quiet and we didn't have to worry about loud party groups. Barbara was quick to respond and communicated a lot with us during the process.

Everything we needed was provided. The house was very clean, fishing was good, the view was awesome, there were plenty of lots, pans, cups, etc. The fishing dock by the property was user friendly, and the location was a minute from a nice secluded beach area. That our kids enjoyed. Only con was the DVD player was not operational for kids movies. The property manager was very nice and helpful. 5 stars!

It was just “OK”
It wouldn’t had taken much for the property owner, and VRBO to make this a bit more pleasurable.. It really just wasn’t the case with this listing. Maybe in the future they will give customers the actual price instead of charging you, then demanding you pay again for items not listed. The location was great. We was familiar with the area. Unfortunately the house itself was very dated. The oven didn’t work (FYI, when you bring groceries), the A/C was controlled remotely by the management which was absurd. In the end, we left a day early.

Quiet weekend
We did a very last minute booking for this property. Nice community and nice property. The house had a great open floor plan which made it easy for everyone to be together. The area around the boat lift made a great space for fishing and lowering a crab net. Easy access to the beach from the community.

What a great canal home!
My buddies and I needed a week-end away, so we rented this house on the west end of Galveston island. Its great being down on the west side because you really fell like you've gotten away from the hubub of the city. We wanted to relax and do some fishing and this house was perfect for that. None of us has a boat and we just fished from the dock. We caught a variety including speckled trout right in front of the house! The fish lights are great too. We were surprised by the size of some of the fish we could see in the lights. Then we decided to take advantage of the community fishing pier and had good luck there too. Also a variety, including redfish. The pier is set up nice with benches and rod holders, and its locked for residents only, so we had the place to ourselves for several hours on Saturday. There is a charcoal grill at the house which made it convenient to cook up the day's catch and we had some feast! Overall, the place is clean and well stocked. We'll definitely be back!

Fabulous location, great house, perfect for our get away.
The house is a great size and set up perfectly. Kitchen has a big side by side fridge and was very well stocked with dishes, cookware. Plenty of towels were provided. Nice to have a washer/dryer. Spring break weather was chilly but it didn't keep the kids from spending much of their time fishing off the dock. We would love to go back when the weather warms up.

Amazing! I was worried it was too good to be true- on the bay and walking distance to the beach?? IT IS!! this house has everything you need. I had everything needed for my Thanksgiving feast. The fishing was amazing. Step out your door and have hours of endless fishing. Neighbors We met were very friendly. There is a washer/dryer, dishwasher,etc. it’s so welcoming it’s like a home away from home. I can go on and on. This will be our go to vacation spot!!!
