Cozy River View

Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Dog and cat friendly. Smart TV. Free wi-fi available.
The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water, as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with covered tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public with the exception). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guest access
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure. There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.
Other things to note
We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. We provide locally-sourced coffee in the cabin. Smart TV in cabin. Free Wi-Fi.

Enjoyable stay. We arrived late at night. Key code worked well. Cabin was clean. Comfortable bed. They even had a soft, fluffy blanket for the dog. Next morning, we had a great view of the Ohio River

Convenient with a view

Cute little cabins with a beautiful view of the river, we came out this way for the mothman museum and statue but we were able to explore hocking hills state park, Huntington WV and even hopped over to Ashland KY for a few hours. We would definitely stay again!

Anniversary Getaway

Loved our stay at the Cedar Cabin & River’s Edge Bed and Breakfast. The cabin was very clean and cozy, with everything we needed. The view from the porch overlooking the Ohio River was one of our favorite aspects, along with the delicious breakfast! Would definitely stay again!

Quick trip to Gallipolis

We were in town for a 2 day volleyball tournament. We booked this place because it was reasonably priced and only 10 minutes from Gallipolis and 20 minutes from The Root gym. The only thing that could have been better was warmer weather to sit out on the deck. The cabin was beautiful on the inside, perfect for our quick stay and the beds were super cozy. The hostess and her family are absolutely the sweetest and our homemade breakfast that they delivered was delicious!! We will stay here again next time we are in town!

Cozy Cabin

We booked this B&B so we would be close to the Gallapolis Christmas lights. It was a perfect location right on the Ohio River. We got there early before check in and was aloud to check in. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the tugboats and barges float by.

Loved our stay, my only wish is that we had had more time to enjoy it! Lovely little deck with a view. Surprisingly spacious but still cozy. Breakfast was timely and generous. Will return.

Great little place to stay!

Check in was very easy. We were greated by two of the sweetest kitties while outside which is always a win! The view from the balcony was beautiful. We were able to walk down to the river through a small path by the cabin. There are great rocks for rock skipping. Everyone was very friendly and we got a nice breakfast every morning.

Ok, here’s the situation: 2 parents, 2 kids, and a dog on a week’s vacation. Driving to Michigan to see some friends. Starting in Chapel Hill, will the miles ever end? They will, they do, with a stop in Ohio, Where we’ll rest for the adventure that awaits us tomorrow. River’s Edge isn’t so posh from the cold outside, but it’s a cozy, thoughtful oasis when you’re standing inside. ————- OK, I had to bust out a little Fresh Prince for this one. We found this place on a lark the day before our trip, and you know what we found? A tradition! We’ll be back next year, for sure. Outside: shed. Inside, OMG, rough-hewn cedar walls, hot shower, VERY comfortable beds, a mini split that works great, and a wee kitchenette with a fridge, TV, and Coffee maker, alongside actually good coffee. And creamer! And, this place was clean, clean, clean, top to bottom. So tidy. And hooks abound, so you can stay organized. Our good dog loved it, too. And in the morning, the fog rolled in, and as we stood with our coffee on the deck into the mist, we saw a heron and a hawk within about 10 yards. The crew is tight. Gina brought us breakfast—not fancy, but fresh biscuits—which we ate while we brushed up on the opening scenes of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles before we got back on the road. This made our trip really feel like a vacation. Loved it. So many thoughtful touches. Thanks to the River’s Edge crew for giving us a cozy place to stop and rest!

We just stayed a night as we were driving through, but easily could've stayed longer! Kind, communicative hosts; yummy breakfast; great guide to the local area; beautiful view! Sleeping 6 is probably a bit tight because of the loft, but we had a great time and would definitely stay again. Just be mindful that it's a bit far from a lot of other services.definitely

Charming and cozy

The cutest cabin with a beautiful view on the lake. We loved eating breakfast on the balcony. Also, breakfast was amazing. Beds were very comfortable. Only part that was unfortunate was that the loft was too tight for us adults and too high up for our little kids.

Great Family Trip

Extremely responsive host. Sent a full page of information several days in advance. Pretty much the only place in the area that let me bring my pets. Stocked on all supplies anyone might need. The AC worked wonderfully along with the hot water. Very sweet getting morning breakfasts. Me and my family were very comfortable and happy. We had four people and three dogs.

I'll be honest, I was a little iffy once we pulled into the property. It's a "blink and you'll miss it" sort of place, but definitely don't miss it. The cabin looked lackluster on the outside, but inside it was genuinely amazing. The cedar walls looked (and smelled) great. The whole cabin was nicely appointed. The bed was extremely comfy and cozy. Temperature was comfortable and easily adjustable. A REAL coffee maker with a local selection of coffees. Breakfast was easy to order, delivered on time and delicious! The shower is small, but gets plenty hot and the bathroom was stocked better than most hotel rooms. The Welcome book was very helpful! It's a bit out of the way (we were visiting the Mothman Museum 20min away), but definitely worth the trip!

Perfect little cabin with fantastic hosts!

I can't recommend this place enough if you're traveling to the area or just looking for a couple days away. There is a great balcony view overlooking the river, and trails, picnic tables, and a firepit right outside. We stayed during our trip to Pt Pleasant, WV, and it was an easy drive to/from each day. Check-in was super simple with no contact necessary. It's a basic cabin that would be great for a family, but was just as great for the two of us. With the AC, fridge, microwave, and coffee pot (stocked with local coffee that was delicious), we had all the amenities we needed -- plus breakfast delivered right to your door. You really can't beat the value. They were extremely kind and helpful during our stay, and responded to any message within minutes. No notes! We'd definitely book again for future visits to the area.
