Find a Great Motel Gainesville

"I was not told until I checked in and paid that there was no elevator and I had to lug my stuff up 2 fights of stairs. I am physically able but at times travel with older folks who would not be able to do that. I got there late and the vending machine on 2nd floor did not work to get drinks. I told the desk next day. Breakfast was fresh and food area very clean. Maybe a few food items for those who arrive late to buy would be good. "

"The room was dirty & unkept . The bed sheets in room 5 ( April 9, 2026 ) were NOT replaced prior to our arrival. When my wife & I were about to get in bed for the night we saw that the sheets contained someones grittiness . Who in the hell wants to crawl into that ? My wife was disgusted . It's MY WIFE ! We left around 3:00 am on 04/10/26 . Tried to get a refund but they declined . Chaffee Lodge is a JOKE & so is the long bearded fast talking lobby attendant ( "manager" LoL ) Also when my wife & I returned at 9:45 pm on 04/09/26 after visiting some friends the entire lobby & hallway reeked with the smell of weed . "

"Loved everything about the place, except the breakfast. While there was hot bagels and engliah muffins. I would expect a hot breakfast from such a nice fancy place. No scrambled eggs or pancakes or french toast or bacon. Still loved the stay!"

"Cottage was good for the money. We are seniors who like a warm house, and the cold windy weather was hard to keep warm. Other than that it was very nice. "
