Desert's Edge Fruita

Desert's Edge provides an authentic Fruita experience to all seeking an outdoor Colorado adventure. Fruita is known for its world-famous mountain biking trails and outdoor adventures. Desert’s Edge Fruita is centrally located to all the action. We hope to highlight these and more Fruita attractions for you to explore during your stay. This unique property is a 4 acre oasis on the edge of downtown Fruita and the North desert trails. The Little Salt Wash runs through the property and provides lots of shade and single track walking paths, all on private property for you to enjoy. It is perfect for walking dogs, sipping coffee or relaxing in the shade near the water. Explore the unique niches around the wash which is designated as a wildlife corridor.
There is a large locked shed for gear and bike storage including a bike stand and work bench near the parking. This area includes an all day shady fenced in dog yard with a dog house. The fire pit, staging area and general hanging out spot in near the shed as well. Parking is off the street be-hind a privacy fence. A big grassy private front yard and several sitting areas around the house are also provided. Explore, relax and enjoy your stay at this hidden oasis. I live on the property in the back (east) part of the house. If there is anything I can help you with, please feel free to ask

Will definitely stay here again!The house is in a great location and perfect size for 2 adults. Our dogs loved the fenced dog area. The house was clean and the host covered all the basics. Loved that local artists were represented!

Cousins Weekend with Fur Babies

The property was clean, centrally located, Karen, the host super friendly and nice. Loved the dog run. Even though the property was off a road, it felt quit secluded.

Sweet little getaway spot with all the special details

The house was lovely and comfortable. I appreciated the electric heat pump, recycling and compost. We sat outside to enjoy tea or snacks and listened to the birds and the stream nearby. The local artwork in the house was lovely and gave a nice feel for the artist community in Fruita.

Excellent stay

Excellent property on shaded lot. Interior clean and inviting. Owner lives next door and is friendly and knowledgeable about area. Well placed for visiting Colorado National Monument and other attractions. Would stay again.

Although it was off a busy street once inside the property it felt secluded and private. The yard was heavily wooded with a creek running through it. The grounds were well kept and nicely decorated with lots of places to relax and enjoy the outside with additional features of a fireplace and grilling area. There was plenty of room for the dog to wander. Inside it was clean, comfortable, and well organized with all the amenities and little things we needed. It has wonderful couch area and nice bed with extra blankets and pillows. There were no issues and everything functioned perfectly to make our visit just what we had hoped. We had an excellent stay.

Karen is awesome and communication was great! We love the place, very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the dog yard was great, as was the location. Karen's pottery is beautiful, as is the art work. We hope to stay again:)

Perfect base for exploring Fruita

Extraordinarily dog-friendly! We have two large Labradors and they were very well accommodated - with a dog run and plenty of room. The location of the Vrbo is great; easy walking distance to downtown Fruita. Comfortable furniture, spacious bathroom & shower, and fast internet. A+ stay.

Idyllic!

Deserts Edge is an idyllic place to stay while visiting the Fruita, Colorado area. The property is like a little hide away. There are trails to explore right out the door, a cozy firepit and, a fenced area for the four-legged companion. Karen, the host, has thought of everything to make your stay most memorable.

Desert's Edge Oasis

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Desert's Edge. The host was incredibly friendly/understanding and the property itself was clean, well appointed, and in a great location. True Gem

This is such a wonderful property so close to downtown and a short drive to mountain bike trails and restaurants. Karen is a lovely host who was super quick with communication and ensured we had everything we needed. The property is full of space for hanging out, walking around and relaxing. We loved our two nights here and would highly recommend this as a place to stay!

Great place for pet owners!

Karen is amazing and this property is beautiful! The dog run is better than some places I’ve stayed that claim to have a dog park. The property is amazing and we loved drink our coffee and taking a morning walk along the river. The house is beautiful and the finishes are luxury and feels like a high end retreat. I can’t express how comfortable the bed was, I slept so great! We will absolutely be staying here again.

Wonderful place!

I can’t say enough good things about Desert’s Edge. The property is lovely. The home is cozy, beautiful, and cool (it was HOT outside!). Karen is an outstanding host. The place had tons of local art that is available for purchase, which was awesome. Plus she provides tons of information about the community, trails, local stores (Lithic Bookstore was amazing!). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect stay!

My husband and our two dogs stayed overnight at the Desert’s Edge. We had a great night! Desert’s Edge is the perfect place to stay! It’s far enough away from town that it’s quiet, but close enough to a wide range of food options. There’s a great area for dogs that is completely secure. You also have access to a walking trail along a creek, so if you like nature…this is the property for you! Also, the host is a wonderful artist, and there is gorgeous artwork everywhere in the house! We would definitely love to stay here again!

Great doggy property

We have two big, gentle dogs. We decided on this property because it had a private dog park where our dogs could chill and become comfortable while we unpacked and organized. It certainly did that. Great outdoor lighting for us and them, and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. A good trail to exercise too. Our host is an artist, and her pottery is a nice added touch. Will use again.

Desert's Edge

As soon as we parked and got out, there was a deer in the backyard & Karen was there to greet us. After entering the guest house, I was in awe of the cleanliness and quality. The trail around the house was grand!! In the evening my sons built a fire in the fire pit. Karen's pottery is very well made & I would recommend a stay here to everyone! What a nice place to stay! Thanks Karen!!!! We loved it! Julie M & boys
