"This hotel was truly enjoyable. The view of the bay was breathtaking. The staff were overall great. One of the waitresses in the restaurant was not very good at her job and did not bring any of the requested items to the table during the complimentary breakfast. I requested for tea with milk, I was almost finished eating and had still not gotten it but I seen her serving other guest. Finally my fiancé got the attention of another waiter and he helped and brought it over. The front desk staff were very friendly and super helpful and accommodating. The were kind, empathetic and took the time to problem solve when needed. I wish I would have taken the name of the front desk lady and security guard who truly helped my fiance and I. They were calm, patient and came up with a solution in no time that was safe and helpful to everyone involved. If they sees this, thank you. My fiancé ordered food from the rooftop. The food and drinks are good but quite pricey in my opinion. Upon checkout, they accidently tried to charge us for a meal that we didnt not consume, however they did a quick investigation and did realize it was not my fiancé and I and removed it from our bill. The roof and walls on our balcony had some holes and that made us a little concerned about the overall structure of the building but we still would sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay. Also the rooftop was nice but there isnt enough seating (especially shaded seating or loungers) Overall, would come back. "

"This is our second stay at Hacienda Cucuyo. It is such a hidden gem overlooking Samaná Bay. It has a limited occupancy which makes it perfect for a retreat style stay. It is quiet, comfortable, and very connected experience. Daniela is an absolutely terrific hostess! She welcomed us warmly and is the perfect host as is Victor and the rest of the staff. Our only complaint was the tiny ants that showed up in our luggage and bed on the first night do to our ground level apartment and the rain the previous day. Other than that our stay was epic. Our apartment had a skinny “single lane lap pool” with a view of the whole Samaná Bay Area. The breakfast was simple yet delicious. Be forewarned that the drive up isn’t for the faint of heart but the views the whole way are breathtaking. We can’t recommend this place highly enough and are looking forward to staying next year! "

"We had a lovely stay at this charming Colonial style beachfront hotel. A highlight was also the charming restaurant which had many vegetarian and vegan options which can be hard to find in this region. Our room was spacious as well aa the terrace with lovely waterfront views. Highly recommend to anyone considering this hotel."

"The place felt abandoned. It seemed to me they attempted to make a nice hotel but didn’t think anything through. You have to climb over the bed to get to the far side of the room because the size of the bed was too big for the size of the room. I had to sit on the toilet sideways because it is too close to the wall. No soap to wash hands in the bathroom. The bathroom door scraps loudly on the tile because the door is too long. No towels near the pool. And the worst part was the wifi did not work the whole time we were there. There are hotels for half the price in Samana. I don’t understand why the guest is paying so much for this hotel. The amenities and care of the building doesn’t equal the price. So far in the Dominican Republic it is both the most expensive and worst hotel experience I have had. "
